Personally, I'd like to get a president who makes me laugh again. A person with a sense of humor that isn't based on vitriol and meanness. A capable leader who is innately funny and who doesn't need media consultants to write jokes. One to laugh with and not laugh at. Yes, Americans, when will be able to start laughing again.

The local big Saint Patrick's Day parade is just footsteps from my front door. I always enjoy the general overall happiness and the friendships I see along the streets. Members of large Irish families hugging. But now, I wonder how safe it will be to wander down and fear what I cannot see.

I watch younger people flash their phones at a cashier station to pay and I'm thinking, their banking information is floating in space. I know. “Get with it,”. But that's what I think.  

 

The rumble about Michelle O stepping in to replace Joe B is getting louder. Watch the way the media begins to turn on him, or at least not rush into his defense, as polls tend to show that he really has no chance to win in November.  

 

But on the Repub side, as hard as Nikki keeps on fighting, the dents she is making just don’t seem deep enough to make a difference. A new NY Times focus group made it clear that former for Biden independents who didn't like Trump at all as a person would now vote for him over Biden. That is also fueling the Michelle whisper momentum. 

 

Up here, February is the month when you are likely to find that your favorite restaurant is closed.  

 

In Gaza, going to a hospital is more dangerous than being seriously ill at home. 

 

I see a lot of good people pleading with Americas to get to know migrants as humans. They are really nice people. I have no doubt in my mind that the vast majority are truly good and loving people. But that is not the rational side of the story. The argument is only about chaos versus order. It's about unlawful entry. It’s about a tough choice, how do you take care of needy humans and at the same time preserve the integrity of a culture that has always been designed to take care of people first and government second. Sanctuary solutions are just band-ades that mask the cause of a situation where people are willing to risk everything to escape where they have been. Their homeland. Their own deep seeded cultures. How do we fix where they were born and matured. That was just a stream of consciousness ramble. I really don;lt know. 

 

My answer is generally taking out despots and their cadre.

They were Peanut Farmer - Jimmy Carter, First Prez to use a telephone - RB Hayes, the Prez NE nicknamed “The Gentleman Boss” -- Cheater A. Arthur, The president with a putting green on the WH lawn -- Ike, The prez blind in one eye form a boxing accident-- Teddy R and a president who died on the same day as Jefferson-- John Adams. 

So why do we have Prudent Day in February. Because auto dealers need a boost in the Northeast. 

 

I thought the “Gentleman Boss” was John Gotti.
