Frozen Tips.

Today's Tids Issue 5,623

There's always more:

Is today a day for pondering as we are just about halfway to a weekend. A reader asks: “If Womb is pronounced “Woom” and Tomb is pronounced “Toom”, shouldn't Bomb be pronounced “Boom!”?

Speaking of “Boom", what a surprise explosion erupted yesterday when the analysts saw a consumer confidence index coming in way below expectations, in fact it was teh biggest drop in three years. Now the Thursday GDP number becomes even more important. Is the economy lagging?  Is recession back on teh table.

Nobody is too busy to do something if they really want to do it.

365 years ago today, our fearless leaders adopted the Bill of w Rights. Even after so many years of cultural, societal, technological changes of deep significance, it remains the core of what makes America great. And there have been attempts to throttle these basic tenants of freedoms and fair living among so many contrasting ethnicities and heritages. I'd say that's pretty cool, surviving for so many years through so many changes

My old LP records are in their vinyl resting place.

The Question:

Last night was the finale for AGT 2024. Which 10 acts following their AGT appearance have become the most successful?

The Headlines:

--Stock Markets Wary Following Yesterday’s Suprising Consumer Confidence Drop.

--Floridians Evacuating Ahead of Tomorrow's Expected Cat 3 Hurricane Land Fall.

--Israel Up Attacks on Lebanon After Hezbollah Missile Reaches Tel Aviv; UK Tells all British Citizens to Leave Lebanon.

--For the First Time since 1990 China Launches Test ICBM into International Waters as Part of their Nuke preparedness Program.

--Boeing Union Chiefs Say Workers Not Interested in Airplane Manufacturer's Latest 30% Wage Offer.

The headlines read this morning, “Mortgage applications surge.” Sounds like a good time to latch onto homebuilder stocks, right? But the surge comes from homeowners refinancing. You always gotta read beyond the excitement to find out what's really going on.

I think my typos is a personality defect.

Scientists say that they believe there is nothing faster than the speed of light because there are no other universes to measure against.

The universe is vast, and it appears we are getting more answers with these new telescopes. But it also feels to me that we have barely nibbled the top of the iceberg.

The opposite of croissant is a happy uncle.

The big election discussion around this state is whether or not to vote for a constitutional convention. The unions are against it so that can only mean it is good for the public at large.

An interesting little factoid popped up this morning: Americans are showing a noticeable increase in iron deficiency. Meat and fish are the best sources for iron while vegetables are absorbed much less effectively. Also, if you aren't pregnant or bleeding internally, another cultural trending that will lower iron is endurance sports. sports and exercise. They can cause iron loss through the GI tract and breakdown of red blood cells. Interesting how cultural trensds a can have collateral damage.  Something ot ponder. Have steak while trending yourself into couch-potatoism

I'm seeing new contracts for NBA stars with the new norm approaching $60 Million per year. Say what? Have you tried to afford a ticket ot a game lately?

Speaking of money in sports, a UNLV QB announced last night that he is stopping playing football this season even after leading his team to a 3-0 start. The reason: He said UNLV made him a big NIL Money promise to lure him away for Holy Cross U and they have reneged. What ever happened ot mums and school color scarves. And that my friend is just the top of another iceberg.

Last Night Richard Goodall won the AGT $1,000,000. He calls himself the “Singing Janitor”. It's a dustpan to riches story. And he is very good. Unfortunately, a dog act was second. I say unfortunately not because the dog and master were not decent performers, but a dog act is a dog act. There are just so many hoops to jump through and legs to walk around. But dogs are cute, and Americans love dogs. Babies are cute too. Maybe somebody will come up with a toddler's act.

(Note: My email service limits the number of names on bulk lists so I send the Tids out in multiple lists. I was actually early yesterday, but one list got caught in a snag that I didn’t notice til late in the evening. Sorry to those on that list.)

The Answer:

Number Ten is The Texas Tenors followed by Michael Grimm, Jabbawockese, Grace Vanderwaal, RI’s Matt Franco, Milissa Valesensor, Dracy Lynn Farmer, Lindsy Stirling. The top two are teh beautiful singer Jackie Evancho and the truly wonderful entertainer, Terry Fator. Some others in the honorable mention category are Jon Dorenbos, Paul ZerdinOlate Dogs, Piff the Magic Dragon and Tape Face. Tape Face??

Richard Goodall cemented his AGT win with a great cover rendition of the Journey Song, Faithfully
