Hold your breath.

Today's Tids Issue 5610

Packaging are it:

Holy John Madden, Batman, it’s TidsPickers Time again. Double yikes! There are some great games on tap this opening week and the Tids Pickers will be up all night to get you the best of prognostications

Oops. The Tids Fianacial editor warned you first thing yesterday morn that odd and unpredictable things happen on Wall Street after Labor Day. That we shouldn’t allow the illusions of summer to guide us. But I didn't expect it to be that bad. But it is warning for sure. Let's hope the traders don't try to make up for it by placing bets on NFL games. And that they don't use the TidsPickers selections as their bible.

Bossy men at bars always order everybody a round.

If you go looking for a tune on You Tube you are invariably met first with a message asking for support from Kam or Tim.

The Question:

Name the Top Ten Longest Running TV Game Show Hosts. That's TTLRTVGSH for the less verbal readers.

The Headlines:

--Markets a Mystery as End of Summer Reality Sets in; Dow Rebounds, Nasdaq Floats.

--House Committee on Foreign Affairs Subpoenas Blinken over Afghan Exit.

--Kamala Proposes Small Biz Start Up Assistance Program.

--RCP Swing State Polling Averages: Harris leads in Rust Belt – 1.1 in Mich, 1.4 in Wis, 0.5 Pa; In South Trump Leads 0.7 NC, 0.2 Georgia, 0.5 Arizona; They are Tied in Nevada. (As of August 29-30, Polling.)

Presidential campaign headlines these days are heralding lot of nothing

Maybe this is what headlines about "First AI Presidential Campaign" mean: Today Amazin is rushing to fix Alexa after she or it or whatever answered the same question about Trump and Kamalla differently, basically ignoring Trump and oozing gaudy enthusiasm The K. Does AI mean you can rig anything anyway you want.

In case you didn't know it, we are currently subject to the vagaries of something called the ”VIX” Volatility Index. Or “The Fear Gage”. Analysts are looking at a September opening that reflects an “Unstable” recovery from the mini panic when on August 5 Japan's Nikkei had its biggest one day drop since 1987. And the VIX was springing i up to 65, its third worst number ever. The markets are considered stable at around 30. So, there is not a lot of confidence in the late August recovery. That is one reason why there will be a hard look at the employment numbers on Friday. And why antacid maker companies nay see record top lone revenue.  How solid is our economy, anyhow?

There is solid evidence that man's toughest task is trying to fold a fitted sheet.

And I can say with authority that I can't imagine anything convincing me that I should watch Bachelorette.

Today's music seems to be about laying down beats. Get the bodies moving, that is what counts. What happened to stirring of the hearts

A more creative than average reader sends this in as an alternative answer to yesterday's question, “How do you stop a Rhino from charging,” Take away his credit cards.

College football has become a big “Play for Pay” departure from Mums and Rah-Rah Alums. But it has also deteriorated into Play for Pain where small colleges are willing to be pummeled and embarrassed for big dollar payoffs. And networks broadcast these games. Which proves once again that you can sell Americans anything.

A waffle’s evil twin is its alter Eggo.

The Answer:

Number ten is Steve Harvey - Family Feud (Original Host Richard Dawson is number 15). Going up we have Dick Clark - Pyramid, Wayne Brady - Let's make a Deal, Peter Marshall – Hollywood Squares, Drew Carry – Price is Right, Gene Rayburn – Match Game, Monty Hall – Let's Make a Deal (Original host). Number three on the big 3 list is Bob Barker on the Price is Right (35 yrs). Two is Alex Trevek on Jeopardy (37) and Number one is Pat Sajak (40). His replacement comes aboard September 9 in the form of Ryan Seacrest. Pat Sajak makes me laugh. Will Seacrest? That is the question. The rest of the top fifteen, which is all of them over 10 years, are Bud Collier – To Tell the Truth, Art Fleming - Jeopardy, Groucho Marx – You bet your Life, Jack Barry – the Joker's Wild and Dawson.

And also stepping down for a “Long, Long Time’ is Adele. She wants time to live the life with the family she has wrought

So, here's a little Adel to help with saying good bye..
