Today's Tids Issue 5,834
Assessing:
Well, he did it and from this amateur armchair it appears to have been a good plan well executed. Now the discussion will be -- was it a good idea. Other than Netanyahu, most other countries have been pretty muted in their official public statements. UK’s Starmar says hew will be narrowly focused on descalation. Pragmatic China says, “attack Seriously Violates International Law.” Russia slammed it, suggesting other countries will rush to Iran's aid with nuke warheads. Iran says they will make America face the consequences but it seems from this viewpoint that the actions of Israel coupled with the US strike as reduced Iran's ability to fight back. Iran seems to have lost a lot of options that may have made it far less of a factor in the balance of world powers.
Gustav Mahler and Richard Strauss are somewhat similar as within their at times crazed structures, you find yourself suddenly aloft upon some of the most beautiful musical interludes ever written.
There may be too much news or calamitous informaiton for my aging mind to wraps itself around; too many ramifications of consequences wrought,
Artificial intelligence is great, but it can’t replace a good pun.
The Question:
Who was Saphire of radio comedy lore?

It appears Trump has the authority to initiate action like the Iran bombing but depending on the status of the conflict after two months, Congress has the duty to interject authority. Just be prepared to have that argued and analyses as nauseum over the next few weeks.
The orange daylilies are abloom on country lanes and along old stone walls. See, life is Ok after all.
I love to make up new words. It confuses the hell out of AI. Breaking rules of grammar works nicely too.
The precision of the m US military organizations in the Iran effort making me feel safer today in the increasingly dangerous world.
Trump would be better served if he talked like a real person without superlative adjectives. Especially following momentous events like the week the bombing of Iran. Adjectives cloud believability.
Google search was better before AI. The original Google was more intuitive. Today with AI it is bulk fact driven and condescending; it Latches on to key words taken out of context. And has little sense of inuendo. Must be scrutinized before accepting. But, it is typo free which doesn't necessarily make it better.
I get the sense these days that if I go out in public with my shirt tucked into my pants, I look like a societal outcast. How things have changed.
That Traveler’s Open yesterday came t down to one great finish with Keegan Bradley turning it around at the end. Too bad for the popular Tommy Fleetwood who was one putt away from his first US victory, begore Keegan's heroics.
BTW, in case you hadn’t heard, co-second place finisher Russell Hensly could have been in a tie with Bradley if he hadn’t on Friday called a penealty stroke on himself. Yeah, his ball moved befere he hit it. Nobody but he saws it and there were no vides. But honesty ios integral to the integrity of tis sport. I wonder what Politicians do when they play golf – pardon themselves/
For state dinners at the White House, bands are only allowed to have two saxes.
I thought that the analysis of what would happen if no more babies were born was interesting. Maybe you read it too. It is an interesting exercise about understanding the fragility of a society. Let's say at best, people die at 100 years old. That would mean that if there were babies born, humans would be gone in a mere 100 years. But consider that without babies, in forty years the youngest person would be forty. Where are the young people to do the work that supports society. In 60 years the youngest would be 60. Who is caring for the ill and aged. So, the consensus is that it is possible humans would be gone in 70 or so years and society could cease to exist due to lack of food producers, other key societal functions, and anger between those left. And of course, younger natural deaths.
Ona similar note, MIT just finished research project on the effects of AI assistance. They separated a sample into three Gorups: Those using ChatGPT, Google Search Engine and nothing but their brains. The ages ranged from 24 to 39. They used EEG's to measure brain activity among all groups. Chat GPT users “had the lowest Brain engagement and consistently underperformed at Neural, Linguistic and Behavioral levels.” Over the course of several months the ChatGPT users got lazier and lazier resorting totally to copy and paste by the end of the sturdy. The MIT media lab says it will continue to work on many aspects of the effects of LLM’s (Large Language Models). The are seriously concerned that LLMs could be used for early education which at this moment they believe will harm a child’s Developmemt.
They are dropping bombs everywhere it seems these days. What ever happened to simple.
AI had a problem with its dance partner because it couldn't find its algorithm,
The median sales price for a US Home is $422, 800. I remember when that number was well beyond the wildest dreams for 99% of Americans.
The Answer:
Sphire was the wife of the very funny Kingfisher on the popular Amos and Andy Show – probably not close to being acceptable today.
Speaking of lore of yore, here is one of my favorite tunes of the late fifties (1957). The Coasters were a lively bunch and I this tune made n me smile:
