Yikes! Who knew.

Today's Tids Issue 5,828

Peace and War:

Wow, talk about Friday the thirteenth and potential disastrous consequences. Israel apparently precisely knocked the guts out of the Iran Nuke program. At least thats what the news reports say. It sounds like this is just the Beginning as Israel has Vowed to Attack Until the Iran nuke threat is neutralized. They6 will.

How cool was it that Israel built a drone lunching platform inside the borders of Iran!

Tomorrow, we honor the 250th Anniversary of the founding of the US Military just after he battles of Lexington and Concord.. They have done more than any group of people could have down for the USA over all those years as a fledgling country emerged into the greatest in history. . Let's just hope that the focus tomorrow is on the Military,

What do you do when you find Niacin and Thiamin at your front door? You vitamin, of course!

The Question:

Who is Ruth Wakefield? Bonus: What is the only country with consecutive TY in its name?

The Headlines:

--Israel Launches attack On Iran Nuke Facilities and Key Military installations; Houssein Salami, Chief of Revolutionary Guards Killed; Iran retaliates with 100’s of Drones; Trump Says, US Not Involved, though he knew of Plans Beforehand.

--Netanyahu Says, Iran Close to Weaponizing Nuke Arms.

--Oil Prices Soaring After Israel Strike on Oil Producing Iranl; Dow Opens Down over 500 Points.

--Fitch Credit Rating Downgrades Warner Brothers to “Junk”.

Well before the Immigration sweep many experts said that the economy would have trouble without the illegal workers. The Tids Economics editor for years suggested creating some kind of Green Card worker program for industries like agriculture, tourism and of course to day, landscaping. Yesterday Trump woke up to the fact that there is no cheap labor in the US except for illegal entrants.  Allowing illegals to run ramped across borders has been a disgrace to what we are supposed to be, a civilized, ordered society. But that doesn't mean you can't be smart about it instead of politically emotional.

Working with compost is degrading.

It's too bad I am an honorable man because I can think of several funny lines about the now deceased Iran Revolutionary Guards’ chief, Salami.

Neath clouds of the Middle East, Hegseth said today he hasn't ruled out Military action against Greenland and Panama. What have we come to? Will he commandeer Greenland and Panama’s National Guard. What an embarrassment.

It took me a long time yesterday to find the channel broadcasting the US Open. Remember when we could just find a channel with something on it to watch without worrying about which streaming channel was stealing our favorite programs

In reading of Trump's various actions, I find a huge conflict in that he seems to be all for Federalizing everything and I prefer the least Federal involvement possible. How could Big Government Trump ever be considered a conservative or Republican?

Swing slow and under control -- Why can't I follow such a simple theory for golf consistency.

I heard that if n average golfer with an 18-handicap played Oakmont the site of this year's US Open he or she would score about 200!. And it isn’t the tall grass, it's the slick greens that will do them in.

While we are on sports, the ratings of the NBA finals for the first two games averaged about 8.8 million viewers which is down about 24% from the previous year. Looks like all the players will have to take a salary cut... right?  Regardless of the dollar shortage, you gotta respect what Indiana has done in the playoffs.

Speaking of the “Money Morass”, that is what amateur college sports has become. I thought I'd never get tired of sports but the constant bombardment and dizzying dazzling promotions and exaggerations is more than I can bear.

Is there a longer finale to a piece of music than that of The Great Gate of Kiev which ends Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition. But, well worth the time if you want a chill or two.

The Answer:

Ruth Graves Wakefield, bless her heart, invented the chocolate chip hshe used successfully to create a new and delightful cookie, then called a Tollhouse cookie. Bonus: The onley country with a consecutive “TY” in its name is Vatican City. Which BTW is the only country within a city.

Have a great American weekend, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!
