Today's Tids Issue 5,915
Bureaucrats cut red tape lengthwise:
What is that orb in the sky.
People say things like that after the rains.
But the rains are forgotten,
Like the ills we’ve had.
The flowers radiate neath the glow.
Hardships are obscured.
And even sadness,
Even an ache that is forever.
Is brightened,
With warm memories that were.
I was happy to see that every media operation – wire, publication, Radio station, TV Network rejected the Hegseth demands except one They all agreed that it was an attack on freedom of the press, with even right leaning media calling the regulations “unnecessary and onerous”. The universal opinion except for the one was that reporters parroting news releases is a disservice to all Americans, cutting out the watchdog advantage a free press. There will be but one media company covering the Pentagon now – One America News Network.
Ever stop to think and forget to start again.
The Question:
Martin Scorsese has a lot of hit movies. Which ones do you think Americans rank in the top ten.?
The Headlines:
--Media Across the country Refusese to Sign Hegseth Pentagon Pact;
--Gold Pushes Across $4,200; Rate Cut Hopes Surface Again. Stocks Off to Good Start; Strong Bank Earnngs add Juice To Confident Outlook, Today.
--Shutdown Enters Third Week.
--Trump Awards Charlie Kirk with Presidential Medal of Freedom.
--Trum Says Now that the USA will only fund Argentina if Prez Candiate Milei Loses.
--Hamas Performs Execution in Public Area in Effort to Reassume Control; Netanyahu Says he will give Peace a Chance, but “has Doubts”.
All of the enthusism pushing the Stocks higher today seems based on wishful thinking. That's the kind of market we have these days, lots and lota of cash looking for excuses to keep on buying something.
Elizabeth Warren will be out there whooping it up for NYC socialist mayoral candidate Mamdani as long as he doesn’t redistribute her millions.
Living on Earth is expensive, but it does include a free trip around the sun.
A lot of people were questioning the presence of Fifa Prez Gianni Infantino at the Egypt Summit on Gaza. It was because Gianni wants to rebuild a soccer presence in a peaceful Gaza, feeling that football can stabilize the region. (Until there are fights in the stands) Interesting though, this morning Turmp threatened Boston that he will move teh World Cup Games long scheduled for The Patriot’s Stadium Next July because “Johnny” (Gianni) is his friend. He says it is because Boston is too dangerous. Yeah, right. The old tune is getting stale.
“Like snowflakes the human pattern is never cast twice. We are uncommonly and marvelously intricate in thought and action, our problems are most complex and, too often, silently born.” --Alice Childress.
We are all ourselves. Not the creation of data. We are unique. We think. We opine. We love. Thanks to the TPL for the Alice quote.
The Nobel economics prize was for their work on the Creative Destruction of the Past. Don't be surprised if AI kills Spell-Check.
There are values in the past that should never be destroyed.
Speaking of destruction of past standards, researchers are applying for 140 patents for a new wood product that's lighter than and 10 times stronger than stee! A Holy Superman, Batman.
Today begins open trading in the NFL. The good teams have until November 4 to snag good players form floundering teams. The survival of the fittest.
A nice comforting piece of music is Richard Strauss Heldenleben.
I think we will see a trend back to unadorned food. You know, when the flavor of the protein you ordered is unmistakably the star of the dish. Of course, it's fine if the flavor of the protein is incorporated in the gravy.
A bartender is just a pharmicist with limited inventory.
It was Tear-Jerker Tuesday on DWTS which in case you are as out if it as I, that stands for Dancing with the Stars. The emotional stories must have worked because there was arecord 50,000,000 votes cast and nobody was eliminated. The top three, in case tyou are interested, are Dylon Efron-Daniela Karagach, Alix Earle-Val Chmerkovskiy and Robert Irwin and Witney Carson.
I just saw a story about style trends in LA. I'm not interested.
I should get back into reporting on “The Voice” but somehow it has lost is zip for me.

Why would anybody give up freedom of thought to follow a stranger.
