You know ‘em...

Today's Tids Issue 5,907

When you see 'em:

Haven't great leaders always risen above politicians.

That autumn chill.

Lowering sun rising.

Gleaming.

Through crystalline air

Upon calming hills.

Though seasons change

Your heart speaks of forever love.

As it always will.

The Baseball Playoffs are tense. Though teh Ddgers ousted the Reds last night we still have three all or nothing games tonight: Guardians-Tigers, Padres-Cubs and Ya, Ya, Ya, (WYKWIM)-Beloved Red Sox.

The Question:

What real life show inspired the creation of the popular animated show, The Flintstones?

The Headlines:

--Markets Buoyed by Continuous Belief in Future of AI; OpenAI $500 Billion Valuation Makes It Most Valuable Startup Ever, beating Out Musks SpaceX.

--Mass Layoffs of Government Workers imminent.

--Hamas Military Leader in Gaza Disagrees with Peace Plan.

--Taiwan Government Nixes US offer of Fifty-Fifty Spilt in Chip Making,

--Prospect for Recession Rises to 36%

--Wheel of Fortune Puzzle Solver Christina Derevjanik Captures all time Highest Winnings Title Tuesday with $1,035,155.

--Knife Wielding Madman Kills Two, Injures Three at Manchester UK Synagogue.

--View Audience Gives NYC Socialist Mayor Candidate Mamdani Overwhelming Positive Welcome to Stage.

--Greta Thunberg Among Hundreds of Activists Stopped by Israel; Flotilla was Bringing Aid to Gaza; 443 on Boats Detained by Israel Navy.

What do JP Morag Bank and Taylor Swift have in common? They are both too big to fail.

Blue states have plenty of Repubs and independents including even RI, and everybody in those states pays taxes to big Gov. So, this idea I read this morning of taking away funding to blue states is unnerving as it hurts many a good conservative whether identified as Repub, Indy or Dem. This will or should be another constitutional issue.

The hot new movie heralding the return of Daniel Day Lewis is described as a “Bleak family Drama.” Thanks, Daniel, but no thanks. Count me out. I don't watch movies because of actors, anyhow.

The Ole’ TidsPickers come off a fair week at 10.5- 5.5 bring us to 41.5-22.5 (65%) The 0.5 was a helluva game. One thing I'm coming to grips with is that we seem to be in a year when anybody could win the SB. I mean, I don't mean anybody, but lowly teams seem capable of knocking off supposed Giants. Tonight is a classic West Coast rivalry with The Niners and Rams going at each other. I though LA would be better and feel that the San Frans seem iffy. I’ll go Rams. This weekend looks rather difficult all around. Minn is another Iffy, but Cleveland just tossed Flacco. I'll go Vikes. Balitmore will be without the great Jackson. Houston has Holes but badly needs a good win. This will be close. But I'll stay with Ravens. Another unlikely poser is Miami and Carolina. The Panthers woke up once and Miami is now without receiver Hill. Quandary. I go Miami. I have to pick Indy over Las Vegas and Dallas over the woeful Jets. The other NY team the Giants are intriguing. How will young Dart do without best receiver, NO is nowhere. I'll take Giants.

Moving on, i have to take Arizona over Tennessee and Detroit over Cincy. I have been big in Denver’s corner but their battle against the Eagles will be really tough and one of the best games of the week. Will be one of the best of the Week, I'll stay with Philly.TB and Seattle is another guessing game. Seattle is making me a believer, so I'll stick my neck out for them today. Washington is injury riddled, but the Chargers have been less than expected. I’ll give LAC one more chance. Jacksonville have been playing good football, and I have been rooting them on. But Mahomes is looking a little better now, and KC’s D will slow the Jags. So, Buffalo New England should be a no brainier right, Buffalo all the way. This will be close. My heart says hometowners but Josh Allen is too good. The Bills. The Pack, Bears, Falcons and Steelers are off this week.

TV shows and sports events are always talking about new records of high viewership. At the time when Charles Schiltz last new Peanuts” strip was published in 2004 the great comic was read by 350 million people. And it you were sitting here with me in my little room you'd still be hearing me chuckle each day.

You can’t force greatness.

I still think that Pat Sajak’s give and take with contestants was much more enjoyable than Ryan’s, He is working hard but just misses in my humble estimation.

Activists never fade away like old soldiers.

The Answer:

Flintstones were inspired by Jackie Gleason's the Honeymooners. Right to the Moon, Alice.

By the way, was there anybody funnier than Art Carney as Ed Norton. I’m still smiling.
