Lindsey Graham was a stalwart through many and varied political wars.  

 

The opening of Beethoven's “Consecration of the House” overture is compelling and draws me I deeply. I just wish he had brought it back at the conclusion so I could wrap myself in the finale with the same sense of majesty and satisfaction. But what do I know. He's Ludwig the great, and I'm me. 

 

Did you read where the great actor Anthony Hopkins just composed an album of Classical music. The conductor of the Philharmonic playing Hopkins’ music will be the great Gustavo Dudamel. Anthony said music has always been his firet love but acting paid the bills. He started playing piano at four and wrote music as a teen for school plays. Within us all there is something great that sometimes for reasons of society never gets revealed.  

 

Well, we are down to four: England, Argentina, France and Spain. You want a ticket? Rob a bank. I see France and Argentina in the final. Two more games and the fever ends, and people will look back in a week or so and ask, did anything happen this summer?

No matter how the world condemns, or how advisors recommend, I always come back to Cheetos. 

 

Sinner beat Zerevev in A tough match to win a consecutive Wimbledon title. Sinner looks like the cream but wait til Alcaraz returns from an injury. Alcaraz actually has a title edge over Sinner who has been dominant with the Spaniard had been on the sidelines. Though Zverev won teh French before England. These three are the wave following the big three – Nadal Djokovic and Federer.  

 

I have a lot of trouble trying to buy shampoo. I just stand there looking at an array of names that mean nothing to me. So, I just grab the most harmless looking bottle and hope for the best. 

 

There a has been a lot of news this morning about Sam Neill’s Death, and all they tall about is his character in Jurassic Park. But Sam was much more than that, and people enjoyed him for decades in many great roles. Some of his best were Hunt for the Red October, The Piano, Sweet Country, Sirens and  The Dish. Neill had a way of captivating viewers.  

 

What a day. Graham dies and in the next moment we see McConnell holding yesterday’s newspaper saying “I'm here, alert and alive. Even in sickness and death the race for control continues  

 

I walked away after locking my car in shopping center parking lot. I thought, really what's worth stealing in my car anyhow. Then I thought about my prescription glasses! I wouldn't be able to drive home.  

 

It seems that after we bomb the hell out of Iran somebody in that country says, “we should talk peace with teh US, “Like this is crazy waiting around to get blown-up”. But then as peace is mentioned, somebody on the hard side presses a launch button. This mess could go on for a long time. 

 

Trump is high on the Australian Pension program. It is an employer contributed program where the funds will be run not by the Government but by private investment firms. The Social Security Trust is projected to run dry by 2032.  We shouldbe looking at something that can work for all who need it. DT has ordered Lutnik and Bessent to look into the Australia Plan. BlackRock's Larry Fink thinks it’s great too.  

 

Speaking of retirement concepts and programs, the 401K for people who have access to it is not a bonanza either. According to Vanguard which administers that type of program for 5,000,000 people, the median balance last year was just $44,115!  Yikes! 

 

A ticket for a play at a local Summer Stock theater of renown is now $109. When did summer stock become a considered purchase? 

 

Yesterday I played frisbee with a four-year-old little girl. I think I discovered my new level of athletic capability.

Lion in Winter first brought him fame. The other three are A Bridge Too Far, Magic and The Elephant Man. Personally, I first remember him for Magic where he played one, genuine, scary character.
