For Stepping Back:
There
are so many mind conflicts these days, that I think we all
just have dwell on starry eyed falling in love.
Hatred
stultifies
brains.
It
seems like just about every other day some medical lab comes
up with a new probable risk factor for dementia. Yesterday it was sleep. “Johnny
you have to go to bed early or you will get dementia when you grow up.” I feel
sorry for today’s children with overly protective parents.
If
you are feeling angst about all of the
oddities creeping throughout the country these days, just stop a moment and say
something plain and simple like “Holy Cow!”
This
is the time of year we all have to look a little harder at
stocks. Summer fun is over, and even though stocks made it through the last reporting
session on the plus side they are not responding dynamically. It is after all,
just days before September when the Pros begin plotting the future and year end
activities. Have the techs been too high in rarified air? Are there any unseen
bubbles affecting the financial stocks? Why has the Dow only risen 1% in the past
3 months?
Many
of the economic signs are pretty darn good right now. Maybe
we’ll get a clearer picture when Janet Yellen talks on Friday to the Jackson
Hole gang about the “US Economy and Financial Stability.” And, it is still
August going to into September, always a timid time tempering bold moves.
Have
you noticed that Hillary likes to complain about men
crowding her space? Now it’s Trump but before that it was Rick Lazio in her
first Senate race that caused the whining. Then of course she always had to worry
about Bill bringing anther woman into the bedroom.
The
Question:
Double
Puzzler Day: 1. What word when turned upside down still
spells the same word? 2. When you replace
a “W” with a “T” for three questioning words, you get the answers to each. What
are the three words?
The

Thanks
a lot Hillary! Now with your new book, the Trumpster will
be sniping back at you for the next six months and he’ll get nothing done. Just
what the country needs, more excuses not to do anything.
Things
we
don’t need: The Wall.
The
liberals are on a warpath. The latest movement is to have
Congress ban free speech for groups who like white people.
Somebody
brought up the idea of a new civil war brewing in America. Now
I don’t see factions carrying guns into the streets, but we are seeing a gap
that has been increasingly widening. The anger against Trump is really far
deeper than that against a man who often leaves himself up for cartoonish ridicule.
It is intense and still about the loss of an election where the left were
assured they would be appointing all of the judges, increasing regulations, and
damning things offensive to them. But, they awoke to a different scenario that
November morn, and the disappointment immediately rose to seething anger. They also
lost the Senate and the house, and their bad dreams for America. They have nothing
left except this maniacal desire to thwart anything that speaks to progress.
That is probably a gap wider than what drove the confederacy to secede. So, in essence
we are approaching a civil war between basically similar people with entirely
opposing ideas. And, there doesn’t appear that there is a compromise available that
would appease the left.
Kids
picking majors looking for success in the real world should
go for Science, Technology, Math, Engineering. The most valuable major right
now is Petroleum Engineering with a starting income doubling the average for
all grads. Next is pharmaceutical Sciences and then Geological/Geophysical Engineering,
Mining Engineering and Naval Architecture rounding out the top five. If money
and opportunity are your goals, then avoid Clinical Psychology (Highest
unemployment), Studio and Fine Art, Human Services and Community Building and
Composition and Rhetoric (The study of speaking and writing.) If you have a smart
phone you don’t have to speak, and certainly not write well.
The
Answer:
If you Turn SWIMS upside down you still get swims. 2. When yo change the “W” to a “T: on
When Where and What you the answers -- Then, There and That.
The
Pun of the Day: Learning to sleep upside down is hard
for baby bats, but they soon get the hang of it. Oh, Nooooooo!
I
should be banned from Punsville.
