For Healing:
Holy
Cow!
Another beautiful, cool day here where you can hear your heart flutter; where
romantic dreams are inspired by every green leaf that turns inside-out from
comforting breezes off the sea. It is a day to imagine, while building rock sculptures
above mean tide; the sounds of waves crashing and the salty spray wipes my brow.
I have no worries, I am safe.
The
floods have ended and the realization begins – no home,
no furniture, no cars. Nothing but hope, that ebbs and flows like the gulf
waters.
I
feel the pain of others, and cannot help them heal. My
heart aches.
Basically,
when the Founding Fathers decided to create a Republic
instead of a Democracy they were guarding against mob rule by Twitter.
I’m
wondering why the media isn’t disturbed by Anti-Fa,
that scary black masked gang which is just about the only group that attacks American
citizens for exercising free speech. Maybe it’s because our Journalists only
have one-way morality. I have to believe that Peter Zenger would have looked
for more from his successors, like perhaps, fairness and understanding. Hey,
even Nancy Pelosi says, “Lock em’ up”! But, the media just lets them roll on.
Nothing
bothers me as much as thieves and looters who would use
the tragedy of Harvey and other disasters to rob homes and businesses of the stricken.
I put them at the top of my Capitol Offense column.

I
see where yesterday Los Angeles announced they will no
longer celebrate Columbus Day, but replace with Indigenous People’s Day. I
think if they want to replace remembering the great explorer, they might
consider renaming it “Father Junipera Serra Day”. He is certainly relevant to the
establishment of the West. But, the left despises him too, because he taught the
natives the love of Christianity.
My
guess is that if we didn’t have media we’d probably have 95%
of citizens living to side by side in relative harmony, generally understanding
each other. How can we move from envies and jealousies to respect and empathy.
So
did you hear about the woman pumping gas while smoking a cigarette
while two policemen watched. Another customer observing this went in the store
and bought an overpriced soft drink. When he came out he saw the woman’s arm on
fire; she crazed, was swinging it around, running in circles. Suddenly the police
had her on the ground and were cuffing her. The customer asked, “What’s the problem
here officers, pumping gas while smoking isn’t that big a crime?” One cop
looked up seriously, “She was waving a firearm.” Shoot me.
An
local artist named Richard Grosvenor died yesterday. He was
a teacher and painter, and kind human being; a nice man who had time for
everyone. His lively paintings brought the ocean and coastlines into living
rooms across this island and lands afar. He may not get national recognition,
but he should. He will be missed by many here.
Word
Selection, Department:
I watched Ari Fleisher on Fox basically praising the
efforts of Trump at the Texas deluge massacre. But the Huff Post characterized
Ari as all anti Trump. That’s why we are growing apart.
The
left loves the cool and elite French magazine “Charlie Hebdo”
Yesterday they came out calling the Houston victims “Neo-Nazi’s”, mocking them
in a cartoon.
Warning:
Don’t buy a “Rescue Car” from Eastern Texas.
Some
people get it. Avowed Hillary supporter Warren Buffett
says he would work for President Trump if the need arose, and if he could be
helpful. In a interview, the solid Democrat Buffett added that Trump would be “crazy”
to share NK defense strategies with the media. It’s what’s good for all that
counts.
The
Answer:
“Hal” Peary who’s birthname was pure Portugese – Jose
Pereira de Faria -- was a very funny guy who is best remembered as Throckmorten
P. Gildersleeve. His Radio show “The Great Gildersleeve” became a solid hit from
1941 to 1951. He began his career as Gildersleeve the Fibber McGee’s neighbor,
and owner of a Girdle factory. Many great character actors like Bea Benadaret
and Gale Gorden were regulars on the Gildersleeve show which was noted for word
play like when referring to his new nemesis Judge Hooker, “That crook of a
hooker has hooked our cook”. I remember laughing on a regular basis.
Spell-Check
never heard of him. Hope S-C isn’t related to Cortana,
Alexa or Seri or out past will be lost forever.
Let’s
hope we never forget Houston. They are just beginning.
