For a Respite form Madmen:
The
Enigma:
Why can’t all the world’s beautiful love
Overcome one satanic, blighted mind?
Why would one who would squash a dove,
Want to destroy all of God’s mankind?
How can such evil continue to survive,
In a world where love of others, thrives.
7:15
AM: A couple of golfers just left the practice tee
at Quail Valley and walking over to the first tee to begin the fourth Major of the
year. Just in case you are looking for a diversion from madmen.
Several
people have sent me information on a new chic NYC
restaurant that is built around one cool ingredient – Cheetos. Cheetos versus
Kale. Take you choice.
There
haven’t been too many good new puns this past week. Unless
you call, “For breakfast, Shrek lied eggs ogre easy.” – a good pun.
The
Question:
I was surprised to learn that Rhonda Fleming is
still alive. I just think that those stars you remember mainly from Black and
White movies must have passed on, just like their medium. What was Fleming’s
greatest movie?

I
remember once talking to a rather humorless self-aggrandizing
chef. I said to him, “You know what James Baird said about McDonald’s? “Sometimes
I just feel like I just got to eat that shit.” He didn’t smile a bit, and I
think he said something like, “It’s time to leave.”
Here’s
what the world has going for it. Kim Jung-un likes
living.
One
of the real problems with hysterical climate change
protests is that the intolerant Gore-gangs force the closure of traditional lost
cost electricity sources, well before any of the new whiz-bang, kind-to-climate
theories have achieved anything resembling cost efficiency. Stuff that works by
subsidy is not a solution for anything.
My
guess is that a lot of the new movements for a change on power
sources are orchestrated by business people who have a stake in the next generation
of electricity and auto production.
I
jested a bit yesterday about the famed Mazda Wankle
engine. In reality, it was, and still is a pretty efficient power delivery
system and has found many solid applications outside the auto industry.
Becoming
a famous conservative celebrity on Fox news is proving
to be very dangerous too a career. The left has been extremely annoyed by the opposition
news on Fox for years. It appears they have found a way to subvert it.
Have
you noticed that Fox News these days is dominated more and more
by women? I guess the theory is that women don’t sexually harass or send out
lewd photos.
“The
Democrats are trying to find a new slogan, a saleable political
direction. Basically it is breaking from the past to find the new for the
younger generations of Dem. “Memories of Roosevelt and Truman administrations
remain powerful in two places in America – Nursing Homes and Democrat leadership
meetings. But despite the party’s shortcomings lately, they have put out new
slogan which has the partisan media buzzing: “A Better Deal”. That’s it folks.
Kim
is ruining the Pacific Tourism Industry.
It
is healthier to eat what you want and forego the stress
of trying to live up to the standards of healthy eating dictators.
The
Answer:
I wish there were more films of the type that made
Rhonda Fleming famous: her top films are considered to be -- Home Before Dark,
Slightly Scarlet, The Spiral Staircase, Spellbound, The Killer is Loose, Out of
the Past, Inferno, While the city Sleeps, Cry Danger and Number 10 – Serpent of
the Nile. She co-starred with all of the bigs of the day like Jean Simmons, Arlene
Dahl, Ethel Barrymore, Elsa Lancaster, Ingrid Bergman, Gregory Peck, Noah Berry,
Alfred Hitchcock, Kirk Douglas, Bing Crosby, Gary Cooper Robert Mitchum, George
Sanders, Dick Powell, Vincent Price, Raymond Burr, and yes, Ronald Reagan. You
name an old classic star, and she probably made a movie with him or her. Well,
maybe him.
When
I go to a restaurant I look at all of the items for
available sauces. Then I pick the dish with the best sauce and the fewest strange
named accouterments. It is simple no-stress formula for comfortable dining.
Be
yourself and love life. Just like Kim. Well, maybe he loves his
life.
