Today's Tids Issue

Looking for Common Sense:
Is
there anything nicer than a sunny morning with a temp in the
mid fifties, where the air is brisk but not shivering cold. Just makes me want
to go out there and jog. But, that big bag of Cheetos just before sleeping
keeps on saying no.
I’m
finding myself looking up to the corner of my newspaper for
the time of day! I’m transforming, and it isn’t pretty.
Hey,
I forgot to make a correction the other day. When writing
about Jerry Lewis, I mistakenly said he raised millions for MS when it was Muscular
Dystrophy – MD. I hope somebody is raising millions for MS too. I’m sure they
are.
One
of the unreported, at the time, changes in the so-called
Afghan strategy is a movement to using India as an ally, which is making Pakistan
very mad. How come we are doing so much to make everybody mad?
The
Question:
Getting ready for a nice Saturday or Sunday morning
and quiet walk to a favorite breakfast site? What do you think are considered
the Top Ten Favorite breakfast items?

One
of the biggest crises in Tidsland is the growing shortage
of good puns. As you all know, the Tids has been doling out the best of those abominable
lexiconic perplexities from the beginning of the first issue. But, the strict
dictums of this editorial board demand that nothing is repeated. So some of the
great puns or writs plays like, “When the smog lifts in Los Angeles, UCLA.” Or “A
will is a dead giveaway” or “A boiled egg is hard to beat” or “Acupuncture is a
jab well done”, will never be seen again unless of course I wrangle them into a
paragraph like I just did.
Here’s
an old favorite axiom of Republicans. “The last four letters
of Republican is ‘I can’. The last four letters of Democrats is ‘Rats’.”
There
was a time when he hours were determined by flowing sands, And
later by the big and little hands. But today it is, “What are hands” and tomorrow
it will be “What are watches?
Amazon
is about to slash prices at Whole Foods which will make
so-called organic food more available for so many more food purists. Economists
say it will cause havoc among the big Grocery chains. But, what about the small,
local farmers leading the way in the USA agrarian resurgence who need the extra
dough to grow their chemically deprived foods.
Investors
are not supporting as they have in the past the big food icons
like Mondelese and Campbell. Perhaps these solid companies have maxed out their
valuations. They make profits, they are well run, but there is no room for stock
price growth after the Trump run-up. That is a problem with a surging market,
there is nothing bad about it, except that there is nowhere to go. It appears
that new pools of funds being created through the sale of big traditional food
holdings and diverted to the small specially food suppliers far below top
valuations. You know, like the smaller organic producers who have just have had
their prices slashed by Amazon. There’s always something.
It
is possible without fully realizing it, that the Left is
urging the destruction of Rebel Statues for a reason more intrinsic to their raison
d’etre than simply slavery of the past. While slavery was certainly an ingredient
contributing to the cause of the conflict, many, many historians say the cause
of the Civil War was the age-old argument “States Rights versus Federal
domination.” The South rebelled because they wanted state sovereignty as
supreme, the ability to make their own critical decisions on key issues, slavery
being one of them. What does the left want more than anything today -- Federal domination
of everything? The statues are of men who fought against that. Take them down,
and steamroll the public.
The
lament: For eight years people who disagreed with the President
were labeled racists. Today, the people who agree with the president are
labeled racist. It’s just that kind of BS coming out of the left through the
media that ridicules sensible arguments.
I
believe that a large percentage of the media is left of
center, and truly despises Trump, but Trump’s criticism of the media is becoming
childish, tedious and to the point of making them victims.
Pun
of the Day: “If the current leader’s head was added
to Mount Rushmore using cement, that would be setting a precedent.”
Labelling
is destroying America. Actually, politicians with all of there inadequacies
were better for America than there professional advertising strategists.
The
latest talking points from the Left in one some form or another:
Trump is mentally ill”. You can always tell “talking points” when supposedly
intelligent free thinkers say the same thing in answer to any question.
CNN
has become shallower than MSNBC.
Regardless
of DT, Repubs have to begin banding together with a
positive message to remain the majority in the House and Senate. That is critical
for the next 3 ½ years.

Between the Lines Movie Reviews:
--Ingrid Goes West is a quirky little black satire
on today’s social media that will hold your interest. At times funny, it heads
off into scary as it progresses Ingrid
obsesses over “An Instagram famous Influencer” (Say what?), and goes from #BFF
to #WTF. (That is “Best Friends Forever” to “What The F---". You have to
be way younger than me to understand this crap). But, the movie is good. Would
be advisable to see it with a millennium!
--Beach Rats is about a young man trying to escape
his neighborhood delinquent destiny and “oppressive glare” of his family. He
takes to finding “Hook-Up” sites for older men, but along the way meets a young
woman and the conflict in his desires drives him to irreversible consequences.
I’m not going.
--Leap! is a dull story told in an animation style which
will draw the kids. Parents may be more bored than ever.
The
