For Deeper Meanings:
Enjoying
good people and friends, I find, supersedes in most all
cases the political leanings of either persons. Somehow Politics, all pervasive
it seems in society, just disappears when people who enjoy each other get together.
Kind of interesting thought, isn’t it?
The
meaning of opaque is unclear.
Thanks
to everybody who reminded me, after yesterday’s Tids, that
the Red Sox play in the afternoon. Now I wish you hadn’t. What a mess…”play”
being the operative word.
The
Question:
Yesterday, several thousand people answered this
question: “Which of the following companies do you think will not be around by
2030: Alphabet/Google, Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, Coca Cola, Samsung,
IBM And GE.” Which 2 do you think were voted most likely to be around then, and
which 2 least likely. Bonus:
Speaking of corporate annihilation, about how many nuclear weapons are there in
the world?

Advertising
a company as a “gun free workplace” is probably a bad idea.
Excuse
me a minute or two while I go and read today’s Comics in
the newspaper. I was wondering why today’s Tids was floundering, and that maybe
it. Hey, you get your inspiration from books great and small, and I get mine
form “Rhymes with Orange”. I was a little rushed earlier tis morn. I’ll be right
back.
The
grocery store packer would use either plastic or paper
because baggers can’t be choosy! I guess my trip to the Mother Goose and Grimm
comics wasn’t worth it!
Our
Governor Gina was supposed to be the smartest women on
the face of the earth. Yet on Monday, she was having trouble understanding why
the Media wasn’t covering her 1000 day in office Statewide tour.
A
group called “First Beacon” has obtained the 2015 tax returns
of “The Center for Community Change”, well known in inner circles for organized
Trump bashing efforts. The returns list as major contributors as WK Kellogg
Foundation (Cereal Folks -$3Mil), Ford Foundation ($2.35 Mil), The Open Society
Foundation (George Soros $1.75 Mil), California Endowment ($524K), Marguerite
Casey Foundation ($515K), Fidelity Charitable Gift ($505.1K and National
Immigration Law Center ($315K). Note: Ford Motor Company has had no relationship
with the Ford Foundation for 4 decades, and the Fidelity Charitable Gift does
not represent The Fidelity Company, but could be the vehicle for many people in
the company to support the organized Anti- Trump operation. Nothing just
happens. Gras roots have plenty of fertilizer.
The
Hill book tour maybe just be the longest in history. And,
certainly the most aggravating…to Repubs and many Dems alike.
There
are a few people to whom you should never tell
of your dreams or accomplishments if you want enjoy anonymity.
I
had a chance to talk to a guy who is a consultant in
a company that helps corporations see and understand their security problems with
respect to in-workplace killers. He says that no matter how much security can be
put into place, somebody who wants to kill will find a new ways in.

Between the Lines Movie Reviews:
--Blade runner is sure to be a box office smash. Blade
runner, LAPD Officer K finds a long-buried secret that has the ability to plunge
an already chaotic society deeper into darkness. It sets him on a mission to
discover the original blade runner.
--The Mountain between us looks kind of tedious to
me. A little over dramatic. I’m not big on these stranded in the wilderness
pics anyhow. Good acting, but a plot too hard to believe as a couple undertakes
a perilous, snowy journey.
--I typically like period movies like Victoria and
Abdul. It is about a special friendship between the great Queen Victoria and her
clerk from India. Could be a nice pic to watch.

The
Answer:
The two most likely were Amazon (91%) and Coca Cola
(88%). The two least likely were GE (62%) and IBM (55%). The percentages for the
rest were Apple (86), Microsoft (80), Google (77), Samsung (72) and Facebook
(66). What’s interesting is that people living in today’s chew-em’-up society
didn’t think any deserved 100%. I’m not surprised that Facebook in the bottom
3. Bonus: I was surprised to read
that there are about 15,000 nuclear devices in the world.
Have
a great weekend…E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!
