Today's Tids Issue 3964
For Standing back Up:
Normally
I open each month with my views on a month, but yesterday
set me back a bit. And this morning it still hovers. But, we are in fact three
days into one of every year’s most beautiful months. A month that is peaceful
in a world that more and more is not. It just feels orange with the leaves and
pumpkins that abound. Like I have jumped into a giant economy sized bag of
Cheetos. The aromas of the changing flora, waters glistens like a million
stars; the longer shadows from the sun on crisp dawning’s are sedatives for the
soul. Why can’t our world be like October? Why do we think like headless
horsemen, despite all of the love beyond the anger?
Three
US researchers were awarded the Nobel Prize for Medicine for
better understanding …the biological clock?
If
you don’t think anger in America is becoming irrational,
consider yesterday’s CBS immediate firing of VP/Senior Counsel Hayley
Geftman-Gold after she said in a Facebook discussion: “…not even sympathetic” (to
victims of Las Vegas shootings because), “Country Music fans are often Republican.” How
small minded can a supposedly well-educated person be! No wonder we have
problems – the intelligent are unable to think beyond their bias.
The
Question:
Las Vegas also makes odds. What do you think are
their picks as the MLB playoffs are set to begin?
The
Headlines:
--Local Individual Heroism Is Major Story Coming Out
Of LV Massacre.
--Trump Heading To PR, Before Trip to Las Vegas To Meet
With Families.
--23 Guns Found In Paddock’s Hotel Room; No Motive Yet.
--Stock Markets Rise Strongly; Tesla Stock Hit After
Severely Missing Production Dates For New Model 3; Ford, GM Sales Strong In September.
--Supreme Court Takes Up Wisconsin Gerrymandering Claims.
--Spain PM Calls Catalonian Leadership Totalitarian
State.
Baseball
playoffs start tonight as the Mighty Minnesota Twins with Joe
Mauer still hitting away like he had not aged, against the Ya-Ya-Ya…Well you
know who I rooting for.
Two
news items I am not interested in: OJ out of prison and the
latest on NFL kneeling.
One
story you may never see in the main stream media is the
results of this study from Pew research; It showed that for the first 100 days,
62% of Trump stories had a negative assessment with but a mere 5% saying
anything approaching being positive. For 0-Man it was 20% negative, Bushwhacker
– 28% negative and Billery – 28%. Now Trump utterances and other antics certainly
contributed to the ease of media being more negative, but in reality, the shock
of losing their sure-thing, beloved Hillary presidency sharpened the pencils against
the Honeymoon-less President.
Standing
headline of the day: “Shootings Renew Call for Stricter Gun
Controls.”
You
may not have noticed, but with the absence of Michelle O in
the White House, Cheetos is advertising the desirability of including their delightfully
cheesy snacks in school lunches. Kids will certainly be happy again, but their
homework papers may appear a little bit smudged.
Today
is not the day for the Tids Editor to begin arguing against
the inaccuracies in The Hill’s post massacre tweet.
Have
you noticed yet the new, rising Super champ on Jeopardy? His
name is Austin Rogers, he is a bartender and in just five days he has already
won $188,780. He is kind of quirky guy, an aggressive bettor and pretty knowledgeable.
And the has a sense of humor. He will be fun to follow.
Even
the owners of Facebook are beginning got wonder
exactly what they created. You have to think that Haley Geftman-Goldis is
having second thoughts about this pervasive invasive social media. the same
way. Next time she’ll pass her postings through the legal department.
The
world in which Uber lives just gets weirder and weirder.
The
Answer:
Well, the consensus seems to have the Indians and LA
in the World series with LA winning on 5 of 9 ballots versus Cleveland’s 2 of 9
and Houston 2 of 9.. The Indians are picked to win the AL series on 6 of with
Houston showing up on 3. LA is on 8 of 9 for the NL championship with Washington
having the other. Only 2 of 9 have my Red Sox meeting the Indians. Today, 6 of
9 have the Ya, Ya’s beating the Twins, while tomorrow it is the Diamondbacks on
8 of 9 over the Rockies. Last year’s champs, the Cubs, lose on 7 of 9 ballots
versus the Nationals.
That
new Hyundai commercial with the twosome singing Sweet Caroline
just makes me smile, and feel real good in a simple sort of way. But, this morn
I saw something that moved me in a different way, the crowd just before the
barrage of bullets singing, God Bless America.
