For Games Well Played:
Going
with
the flow used to be easier.
It
really looks like fall, the way the ocean sparkles, the
way the morning shadows creep out longer. But, it certainly doesn’t feel like
it.
I
hear that up on Lansdown Street there is a special sale
of Red Sox bats, mostly unused, practically untouched by baseballs.
There
are a lot of potential heightened situations today
where the result of an all-out war could not too far away from tomorrow. One of
the biggest has Wal-Mart putting together all of the pieces for an all-out
assault on Amazon, probably the first half of 2108. This year, many people have
put the Besos giant on a pedestal, but we know how fragile is the life of
statues I these days, and it doesn’t appear that old Wal-Mart management was
buying into the PR. It should be great entertainment.
If
that war isn’t enough, consider that Volkswagon could be
changing another huge business landscape as they up their 0n-line selling
presence, and greatly reduce the number of dealerships.
I
could see a smart guy looking at the fast in and out lube stations,
and thinking, why not a chain of computerized “Warranty +” maintenance and
repair shops linked to carmakers for support. For the car mechanic the computer
has taken away; and may now giveth again.
The
Question:
Some of the most shocking episodes of TV programs
involve the death of a favorite star. Name the top ten “Saddest Television Deaths”.

Skunk
season is back in full force. You can smell the
aroma in the early morn where perhaps a farmer or landscaper got a good clean
shot. I figure it’s just part of Autumn.
Remember
when going to a sporting event was away to get away from
the political noise.
Vandalizing
a Chinese restaurant is an act of wonton destruction.
I’d
like to comment on every proposal coming out of the White
House, but by the time I prepare something lucid, it changes or disappears.
In
case you missed it, Rhode Island farmer just set new world
records for the largest pumpkin, and squash! Great for vegetarian communes.
Well,
it only a little over 3 and a half months until pitchers
and catchers show up for spring training. Rekindle the hope to keep you warm
over the winter.
Only
one more Blind Audition segment left on The Voice,
but last night had few that I thought were quite good. In fact, I thought Joe
Mero was one of the best of the show thus far for the year. I personally enjoyed
6’ 8” Dennis Drummond, but it may have been more his guitar playing than his
singing. Anyhow, next week we get into the best part of the show, the duets.
I
know lots of people who really, really wanted Trump’s presidency
to grow into maturity and become stable, but the constant, often irrelevant tweeting
is just for many becoming too much of burden to carry. He has proven what I
always thought he was. a person I could never like. But you don’t have to like a
President if he is getting the job done. Appreciating policy ideas is an entire
other discussion. I know people who will say steadfastly, “He is my President”.
But their eyes always indicate a codicil.
I
use the Internet a lot, but there are many times nowadays when
I consider that the old slow moving America that kept privacy to one’s self was
a better deal. I don’t have to be that fast. Nowadays, speed hurts.
A
big deal criminal case is the one against ex-DNC chief
Wasserman-Schultz’ IT director Imran Awen and his wife Hina Alvi. Stay tuned.
The
Answer:
The episode that made me the maddest and which I
found truly shocking was that of Caitlin Todd on NCIS, which came in at #48. I
also remember several sudden incredibly sad deaths of favorites on “24”, but
none of those made the top 100 list. Number one is Eddard Stark (Game of Thrones)
followed by Charlie Pace (Lost), Lt. Colonel Henry Blake (MASH), Bobby Singer
(Supernatural), Joyce Summers ( Buffy), Mark Greene (ER), Robb Stark ( GoT), Buffy
Summers (Buffy), Tenth Doctor (Doctor Who) and Tara McClay (Buffy). Some other fairly
high rankers were Edith Bunker and Coach Ernie Pantusso.
Time
for a nap. See you all tomorrow!
