Today's Tids Issue 4.627
Getting Prepared:
Do you know how hard
it is to write a daily Tids these days without mentioning you-know-what.
If you think these times
are tough on you, think for a moment of having to wear a crown of thorns.
I’m getting tired
of the Wheel of Fortune website telling me, “Sorry, you are not a winner.” It hurts.
Somebody said to me
yesterday that Bernie Sanders had dropped out of the Dem candidate race. Is
there a Dem candidate race?
But did you notice that the moment
the Bernie said “I’m Out”, the stock market shot up. Socialism must also be a catastrophic
virus.
The Question:
Name Five of your Favorite Easter Movies.
The Headlines:

Joe Biden looked down
into NY harbor and saw the US Navy Hospital ship and shouted, “Holy Crap, we’re
being attacked by Switzerland.”
Think about it.
How come people
get the blues, and then they get really happy when Blue skies appear?
The talk today is
all about the possibility of Kamala Harris becoming Joe’s VP running mate. The
media would latch on to that faster than they could ask another Trump gotcha question.
Really good news, Department:
The NFL has put together a pretty ambitious 2-3 Draft
Day virtual program called the Draft-A-Thon!, which I believe will gather an immense
sports starved audience. Here’s the even better part. The anticipated huge
event has been designed to serve as a fundraiser for 6 Charites involved in the
virus battle: the American Red Cross, CDC Foundations “All of Us”, “Feeding
America’s” Covid-19 Response Fund of member food banks, “Meals on Wheels” Covid-19
Response Fund, The Salvation Army and United Way’s Covid-19 Community Response
and Recovery Fund.
Kamala Harris as VP running mate
may scare off any potential conservative cross over voters, but Amy would probably
be more attractive for a real centrist Slate. Moderation maybe just what more people
may want after coming out of draconian isolation. But then, Bernie peeps need someplace to go,
and Kamala would fill that role for steadfast Libs. Lots of things will become interesting
if electing a president ever rises back up to the top of people’s minds.
There was a good song
in the wonderful Broadway play “Finnian’s Rainbow”. It was called the “Great Come
and Get it Day”. As I look ahead to August when people emerge from their caves
to regale again in groups, that song keeps pounding away in my head. One of the
lines is, “Won’t it be fun when worry is done…”. And anther, “My shoes will
dance all over town.” “Now it’s yourn, glory time’s comin’ to stay.”
And, then in a week or
two will the scourge be back to play?
The Answer:
What first comes to mind is Easter Parade with Judy
Garland and Fred Astaire. A classic for sure. Jesus Christ Superstar is a very good
film as was Godspell. I think The Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown belongs on the
list, as does the little known Risen. As well as Gibson’s The Pasion Of Christ.
Another good one is the 1977 British/Italian effort called Jesus of Nazareth. Others are Here Comes Peter Cottontail, Peter Rabbit.
The Dog Who Saved Easter and Ben Hur. While not exactly Easter The Ten
Commandments is part of the story for Sunday and also Passover.
I thought the play Godspell
was very moving. And the music was good.
