Today's Tids Issue 4.624
Little things mean a lot:
Bright spots
these days are often small and rare but appear gigantic when they occur.
The biggest bright spot
that every reasonable thinking person in all walks of life is looking for is a virus
medical solution. That is what matters for health and the economy. Period.
A readier sends me this,
“First time in history we can save the human race by laying in front of the TV and
doing nothing. Let’s not screw this up!”.
I don’t know
what I’m doing all day, but I sure am ready for sleep at night.
The Question:
What is the difference between Yikes!, Gadzooks,
Zowie! and Aarrrrrrgh! Bonus: What does Covid-19 stand for, mean?
The Headlines:
--Stocks Open Lower; Purchasing Managers index For
Spain, Italy, France, Germany UK Dropped Precipitately to 29.7 (50.0 Indicates
Contraction); Unemployment Jumps To 4.4.
--CV Cases Cross 1 Million Globally; Deaths Over 50K;
Top 3 Countries Are US, Spain, Italy.
--Launch Of iPhone 9 Is Imminent; New “Entry Level” Phone
Set To Go.
--Trump Is Thinking Of “National Lockdown”; Fauci
Favors That.
-- Government May Talk About Wearing Face Masks
Today.
--Kudlow: Recovery May Begin In 4-8 Weeks.
--Astronomers Have Found The Elusive “Intermediate” Sized
Black Hole Long Considered The Missing Link”
--New USA Today Poll Says Majority Of Americans Prepared
To Sit Out CV For A Long Time.
--Bank Of America First To Begin Small Business Loan
Services.
--Evidence Found In Antarctica That points To Rainforest
There In Prehistoric Times.
Many parents
are now discovering that the teachers were not the problem.
Finally,
we are starting to get real numbers. Most projections for the economy and health
were based on low data input and reasonable projection models. Will the growth
in real numbers lessen the hysteria? It’s easier to adjust to what you know.
My local Providence Journal newspaper
changed the eEdition vendor. Gadzooks! It drove me nuts this morning.
Aarrrrrgh! I don’t like that the nutty feeling in the morning. The executive
editor of the PJ was helpful emailng me thrice. Zowie!. Rhode Islanders ware thoroughly
confused this morning Yikes!
Despite having enormous
success as a coffee merchant, he remained a grounded person.
There is a significant distinction
between level of Virus doses and the level of impact. A young, supposed more immune
to serious consequences person sitting next to a CV infected person on a train for
1 or 2 hours could be seriously infected, with death as a result. An older high-risk
person walking into an office building where there was once an infected person
may only receive mild symptoms. Dosage is the new buzz word. It may help add
reason to drastic judgments.
Now I personally don’t know
what the “Intermediate Black Hole” is a “Missing link” to, and how it affects
me. But maybe I’ll worry about that unknown instead of CV.
3 Massachusetts golfers
were arrested yesterday for playing on a Rhode Island golf course. Frankly, I
didn’t know that was illegal. But, apparently, they did. because the three Mass
men left their car in a McDonalds parking lot and were picked up by a RI pal so
his car would be in the Golf Course parking lot. The Micky D Manager suspected something
evil and the police were waiting for the Foursome when they returned. Sounds like
the twilight zone to me. Moral of the Story: Use a Stop & Shop parking lot.
Maybe we
lost all of the dinosaurs to the Ice Age.
Reading Between the Lines Movie Reviews:
(On Furlough)
The top streaming movies are Bad Boys for Life, The
Current War: Directors Cut, Sonic The Hedgehog, Impractical Jokers: The Movie,
The Captain, Brides of Prey, Dolittle, The Gentlemen, Clemency and Blood shot.
--Clemency may be hard to take; A female prison
warden who has executed many over the years, must upon her pending retirement confront
one more demon – personally meeting the last man she will execute.
--The Current War: Directors Cut is the story of the
battle of between Thomas Edison (DC Electricity) and George Westinghouse (AC)
and his engineer pal Nickolas Tesla in their attempt to be the first to bring electricity
to NYC. It is about one of the all-time greatest corporate feuds in American history,
Both side break rules and pull out all stops.
--I would probably avoid Practical Jokers.
The Answer:
“Yikes” is a humorous way to display shock and alarm.
A kind of sarcasm.” Gadzooks” is a mild exclamation of annoyance or surprise
and shock; a mild oath like God Dammit. It comes from “God’s Hooks” – nails on
the crucifix. Now, “Zowie” is a way to express astonishment or admiration
especially speedy or sudden. A way to express excitement and enthusiasm. Aargh
is a cry of pain. Aarrrrrrrrgh is cry of intense pain or disappointment. Bonus:
Covid stands for Corona Virus Disease 2019.
There has just got to be
more to talk about than a disease.
Have a great weekend,
E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!
