Yay for Plastics:
Never apologize for having higher standards.
So, let’s say that the crazies arbitrarily get rid of oil. So, what will you be missing? For starters – aspirin (Benzine) and solar panels. Yikes… did I just say that petrochemicals are a key ingredient i solar panels? Yes, everything is just getting weirder and more conflicting these days. Too many people don’t drill down far enough.
I remember when plastic surgery as a bit of a taboo, but nowadays when you mention Botox, nobody raises a n eyebrow.

What do you call plastic wrapped in fabric? Kim Kardashian
"I just want to say one word to you -- just one word -- 'plastics." That is of course the famous line from the Graduate movie of the late sixties. It was meant to ridicule a product that has many critical uses in our lives. Plastic is the anti-Christ for the self-righteous elite.
One of the worst things an educational system can do for its kids is making it easy ot pass.

The Answer:
For starters petrochemicals are used to manufacture analgesics, antihistamines, antibiotics, antibacterials, cough syrups, lubricants, creams, ointments, salves, and many gels. Processed plastics made with oil are used in heart valves and other esoteric medical equipment like radiological dyes and films, intravenous tubing, syringes, and oxygen masks. Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention rectal suppositories, which is what it feels like when the anti-oil crowd starts talking.
