Today's Tids Issue 4,908
Looking for Logic:
I think that weeks are passing by faster than ever. I must be having fun.
Some Wall Street analysts were calling that current downturn “A breather”. So how come I was breathless watching my holdings decline rapidly.
Today in the USA there is a scary tendency to lump everything that remotely sounds similar into one generalized category. Well, at least politicians and ideologues do, not intelligent people.
Elon Musk said his Tesla would stop using cryptocurrency for Tesla purchases. I really wish more than anything else that I could wrap my fragile mind around this imaginary coin thing but so I could write about it more intelligently.
Think about it. Workers could ditch their leases in super expensive cities and use the money to travel to remote comfortable short-term lease locations in places that de-tensify the senses. And work from there easily; Here I am in my cabin watching deer nibble at my wisteria while I’m shorting 2 million shares of Tesla. Welcome to the new world of cutthroat big finance.
The Question:
Name three George Lucas movies that are not part of Star Wars. Bonus: What did Doctor Edward Jenner accomplish in England in 1796.
The Headlines:
--Stock Futures Say Maybe Two Good Days In A Row; Retail Sales Numbers Come In Flat.
--Colonial Pad $5 Million Ransome.

--Wyoming Divided Over Cheney; Elise Stefanic Elected To Replace Liz.

When wall street denizens seem nervous about almost everything, it’s time to feel a little jittery.
Apparently, we have had an increase of Ransomware style Cyberattacks over the past 6 months or so. It took the Colonial Pipeline event to get out the rest of the data. With the Government, we are always awaiting the Paul Harvy Moment, “The rest of the story”.
Upon further reflection, it is not hard to believe that consumer and producer prices surged after a year that was so lethargic. So short supplies due to the big disease should not be a surprise nor even considered unusual. To me it seems that the positive side is that there is a lot of room for growth and lowering inflation as the current short supply inevitably catches up over demand. We ain’t dead yet.
Why is the national media continually allowed to get away with referring to “Voter Honesty’ Laws as “Voter Suppression” laws?
We should distinguish between mass shootings and gang turf wars.
Repubs are reacting to Bidens glorious announcement about no more masking by asking, “What took you so long? Is it because you needed to shift emphasis away from Crises -- at the border, in cyber-crime or Israel?
“The U.S. government is looking at what can be done. ... There are active discussions in the federal government about what more we can do to disrupt that business model,” said Brandon Wales, the acting director of the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. “Business model”? I call it an International force waging unprovoked war against a peaceful nation. Business Model! We got to start calling things what they are. This is a national security menace of the highest order. “Business model”! Posh!
Wait out politics continues. The Newsome voter change of heart is probably exactly what Cuomo with his own low-profile strategy has been looking for in NY. Just shut up long enough for the people to lose interest, and time will heel, at least, the public outrage. But, will the prosecutors lose interest?
Reading Between the Lines Movie Reviews:
Angelina Joli is back and a lot of people are very happy about it. In the Movie, “Those who wish me Dead”, the action star Angelina gets beaten, battered and bruised more than usual as a woman on the run from deadly assassins. It is a good, intriguing, no-way-out adventure yarn
The Answer:
George Lucas first film starred Robert Duvall and was THX 1138. The rest are American Graffiti, Raiders of the lost Ark, Twice Upon a Time, Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters, Willow, Labyrinth, Howard the Duck, The Land Before Time, Tucker: The Man and His Dream, Radioland Murders and Red Tails. Quite the Portfolio, but generally dwarfed by Star Wars. Bonus: Edward Jenner in 1796 successfully inoculated an eight-year-old boy against small pox. There were no debates and protests, but only fervent hope, because the deceases was ravenous. And there was no twitter either.
If this week seemed a little shorter and much less confusing, its because you were without one Tids. And Shame on me. But that should make your weekend that much better.
Have a great weekend, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!
