Crisp and Cool:

 

Happy October everybody, where there is a deadly debate going on about what is scarier --- goblins and demons and bloody screams in the dark of night, or anti-Columbus loonies running around the neighborhoods tearing down statures? Alas. There is too much of that and not enough time spent enjoying the coolness and the calming longer shadows; the approach of colorful leaves, yellows reds oranges and some a little maroonish. Which unfortunately just draws in more tourists at a time when you thought they were all leaving. But I really love October. It feels like the best parts of a summer night and what you would always want upon Winters morn.

 

Does it bother you that Kansas and Arkansas are spelled the same but are pronounced entirely differently?

 

When you think about it, the bloated bureaucracy is the biggest violator of the Constitution. They sidestep the Supreme Court by interpreting Congressionally enacted laws to meet their own agency objectives, and they use those interpretations to “enact” agency regulations (Laws) without the approval of congress. And you can’t get rid of them very easily

 

In case you missed it, the Sunday Night 8:30 NFL game is that big TV networks dream game between Belichick and Brady. I’m hoping it is a good game.

Here is an interesting way to look at the enigma of today’s big national divide: The side with a 51-49 advantage suddenly has all the power and I considered right on issues. While the 49% has little power and is considered wrong. But when two votes go the other way, the loser party overnight becomes all powerful and smart and the former top party drops out of sight. Yet, the majority of citizens just aren’t that black and white.

 

Can you still use the expression “Black and White”?

 

Yesterday the NLRB ruled that the college athletes are now employees of the school and free to establish unions to fight for   right and increases I salary. The transfer rules effectively wiped out the dreams of smaller schools. But this one may be the most damaging of all to the spirit of college athletics. I pity the poor coaches.

 

Bureaucracies were nothing to speak of until they blossomed under FDR’s New Deal and were fertilized by the Johnson’s Great Society.

 

Doctor Dre says the 2022 Super bowl half time show will be an “Unforgettable cultural moment.” Yikes, Who knew that a half time shows could be cultural moments. The show lineup this year is Doctor Dre, Snoop Dog, Eminem, Mary Jo Blige and Kendric Lamore

 

Another nice thing about October is that it often leaves behind the drab days of the September stock markets.

 

Reading Between the Lines Movie Reviews;

--I didn’t get the excitant around a French movie called Titane. Critics and audiences alike give it high marks, very high. It contains Language, Nudity, Disturbing material, Sexual Content and strong violence. Soud like another US cultural moment! It is not a romantic comedy unless you call woman’s sexual affair with cars romantic. She is a serial killer in between dalliances with BMW’s and Renaults. She gets pregnant… By a car? Then she changes disguising herself to pass for a boy who is then adopted by a lonely man whose son was killed. They say it is well made. It’s a horror-comedy-fantasy so that means it doesn’t need to be believable.

--Venom: Let there be carnage is another comedy fantasy movie loved by the audience. Comedy-Carnage. I don’t get it. It’s about Eddie Brock still struggling to coexist with the shape-shifting extraterrestrial Venom. “When deranged serial killer Cletus Kasady also becomes host to an alien symbiote, Brock and Venom must put aside their differences to stop his reign of terror.” Hey, it’s what people want. And they vote for Presidents too.

 

 

The Answer:

A sniper would never say, “I missed you this morning.” Bonus: An ironing board is a surf board which gave up on its dreams and went to work. Extra bonus: He would most certainly give up reading. Bada Big! Sorry folks, that’s no way to begin a weekend.

Some mornings I experience woes

When I have to write to you in prose.

But I always have a helluva time

When I write to you in words that rhyme.
