Great Societies Don’t Lower standards.

Today's Tids Issue 5,009

I'm sorry. Thank you:

I personally think that the scale has tipped away from common courtesy in order to be fair to common louts. Fairness to everyone regardless of what we lose along the way – is that our new mantra?

The national logistics nightmare is proving one thing for sure -- the USA was better off in many ways when we manufactured all our own stuff. And this horror show points out how vulnerable the US could be in a wartime situation, unable to produce its own defense weapons. Losing control is a terrible thing experience.

We are not alone, Department:

Speaking of scary, we were trying to sign into some CVS site where we would find some personal ifo we needed. To do so we would have to answer some questions for security purposes. Number one asked which street address was never ours, and listed five our homes from over forty years. Number two listed a series of phone numbers asking which was ours. And number three listed cars we have owed over 30 years and which wasn’t ours. And they say they are not collecting data. I feel damn naked and I am not going to put up with it any more.

What do you call a seagull that flies over the bay? A bagel.

The Question:

What was the name of the first “Talkie” movie?

Joe Biden has his AG going after parents who speak out at local school committee meetings. Now I admit that some of these protesting parents can be a bit over the top at times, but going after citizens for speaking their minds in a public forum, is going after the essence of American freedom and independence, and aversion to big government intrusion. This is a lot too big brotherish for this American, but most likely not for the big education unions that funded a lot of Biden’s campaign.

Jokes about PMS are not funny. Period.

The big manufactured sports controversy up here is, “Who was more integral tot the Patriots m incredible 20-year run – Bardy or Belichick. I submit is was actually long time offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia. His lines kept Brady protected, allowed mediocre runners to look like all pros and controlled the ever-important line of scrimmage. Alas, we can’t bring him back again like we did when the Pats feel apart after he retired the first time.

Yesterday ended with a doozy typo which was: “I love it when I can ucver a eheheehrors u not proepelycelebrated.” I was actually, “I love it when I can uncover the heroes not properly celebrated.” But obscurity or no obscurity is probably just a matter of having the good Press Agent. Lindberg and Ehrhart did, but it also helped that they had associated blockbuster news events attached to their personal lives. A good example of the advantage of Public relations strategies can be found in history going back to the “Shot heard round the World”, which referred to a bunch of farmers hiding behind stonewalls shooting at the British, but romanticized by great poets of Massachusetts. Who can forget Longfellow’s; “The midnight ride of Paul Revere”?

Blessed are those forgotten in the pages of history who gave so much of which we never knew.

Remember when Merrit Garland was praised as the perfect “Moderate” choice for the supreme Court by 0-Man. He doesn’t look so moderate now.

I Googled "how to start a wildfire". I got 48,500 matches.

The Answer:

The first talkie was “The Jazz Singer: starring Al Jolson. It was a Musical drama from Warner Brothers in 1927 and was about a young man’s conflict – he wants to be a jazz singer against the wishes of his family and his Jewish religion. Some of the more popular songs were My Gal Sal, My Mammy, Blue Skies, Mother of Mine, Waiting for the Robert L E. Lee and Tot Too tootsie Good-Bye. So that was the first movie with sound, and now we have sounds that burst ear drums. Thanks a lot Jazz singer.

You know that courtesy is real only about thinking of others. Has it become somewhat passe because too many people have been convinced that it isn’t chic or hip; that rudeness sis cool?

Oh, and Thank You for listening.
