Today's Tids Issue 5,169
Just do what you do:
In the new America the first big life decision each morning is picking the best start word for Wordle That’s about it. And then where do we go after the thrill is gone.
It doesn’t appear that my beloved Boston Red Sox will ever have another Ted Willaims or Yaz celebrate years from now. The new trend is trade away the stars with super star potential before their first big contract, A couple of years ago it was Mookie Betts hand now they are talking about trading way Xander Bogarts before the year is up (Especially if the Sox continue to fade). Baseball was better when you could fall in love with players with a pretty secure feeling you wouldn't be suddenly jilted. When you didn’t have to wait until June to understand who your players were. I guess that's the dinosaur in me talking. People tell me wake up we’re in the 2022’s. I haven't been convinced that is better. Especially when I see bodies in the street and lies in the government, and the attempted normalization of inconsideration and irresponsibility.
I was going to try to be funny today. But the prospect of losing Bogarts just set me off.
One of the great enjoyments of music is discovery. I’m still trying to discover something in modern pop music.
Every once in a while, you just have this urge for a couple of good handfuls of Planters plain ole’ salted peanuts.
The Question:
Who are the five all-time greatest woman golfers?
The Headlines:
--Markets To Open Lower; China Numbers Disappoint As Covid Slows Economy More Than Expected.

I know that not many of you care about my love of the Boston Red Sox, but that ls the advantage of being an editor – you can talk to yourself and not criticize typos.
Who will McDonalds sell their Russia holdings to, now that anybody in Russia with money is sanctioned.
BTW, Bogarts is batting .347 and the team average is 227. And he is the one that must go? That’s the new statistical baseball universe, I guess, which at times seems alien to me.
White supremacists are not necessarily good for white people.
They say that Netflix new show “The Lincoln Lawyer” has dethroned Ozark as top show. Personally, I thought Lincoln Lawyer had too much Hollywood glitz and practically no drama at all as everything was basically predictable, so far.
In this past March Gamblers lost $5.8 Billion to casinos. And I'm not talking about the S&P, Dow or Nasdaq. I have never much understood the glee in giving somebody my money for nothing in return. Casinos don’t set the odds to lose.
I must have always really liked Vivaldi because I have an awful lot of Vivaldi CD’s.
India has always been one of those places that tear at human heartstrings as we were shown sad, heart tugging clips of people living in the dirty urban rivers. Yesterday the India government announced they are going to ban wheat exports as a threat to national security. The India Population (2020) is 1.38 billion versus China 1.402 billion. The USA a is 331 million. India is 18% of the global population. China and India are 36% of the global population. The USA isa bout 4.3 %. Some people may say that India is selfish by not sharing, but it seems to me that they need every loaf bread they can find. Oe should say Naan, Shatori or Roti.
Did you know that Maire Antoinette and Louis the XVI were married when they were 14 and 16? Hey never worried about a loaf of bread, but cake did become a problem.
BTW, the global population is projected to pass 10 billion in 2057 and then it appears growth will slow down only reaching 10,902 by 2100. Interestingly the current growth rate is 1%. In 2100 it will slow to 0.03%. It looks like we should be investing in birth control companies, because somebody is doing something. Beware of those innocent questions from Alexa.
Could it be Robots? AI products are becoming smarter each day and will through the cloud begin networking on their own and at an increasingly greater rate. Robot production is expected to grow by 6x’s between now and 2026!
Anika Sorenstam is a remarkable person. Maybe one of the greatest, most competitive athletes in history. And certainly, one of the nicest people you would ever want to meet. A woman head over heels in love with her husband and children and just seems ot understand the real values of life. But competitors always make a mistake of thinking she is a soft touch. Btw, she just turned 50, and after 14 years of no competitive golf, came back on the legends LPGA tour and won her first tournament thus qualifying her for the regular L-US Open. I’ll be watching.
Akso, keep an eye on tennis champ Iga Natalia Swiatek of Poland who is dominating women's tennis right now like nobody since Serina. Sometimes she gets lost in the back pages of US media, but she is worthy of front-page headlines anywhere. I just try to make mention of greatness sometimes never seen. But she is top of mind for tennis fans
Tourism is probably the worst industry to have for people who work in the tourism arena. And try to live there.
The Answer:
Ben Hogan said that Micky Wright had “The best swing he ever witnessed.” Micky won 82 tournaments, but she is only second to the incomparable Anica Sorenstam who won 72 US tournaments and 17 others worldwide. And she retired at 36. After Micky Wright, #3 is Patti Berg, followed by Kathy Whitworth, the amazing Babe Didrikson Zaharias, Louise Suggs, Karrie Webb, Julie Inkster, Pat Bradley (Keegans’s Mom) and #10 Imbee Park. The rest of teh top 14 are Betsy Rawls, Patty Sheehan, Besty King and Nancy Lopez. There are many playing today who slide forward. I am sure. Will be interesting to see how Anika does against the current players in the Open. Oh, there are several other lists with pretty much the same players but with Micky and Annika switching positions.
