Today's Tids Issue 5,257
On opening fences:
HL Mencken said, “Afflict the comfortable and comfort the afflicted”. It’s a nice sounding statement. Perhaps a reasoned anthem for journalists. But I believe too many Journalists take it too seriously without understanding the full depth of the consequences of close-minded reporting.
We have an interesting dichotomy going on these days. There seems to be a popular new trend, especially among younger people, to just get up one day and leave their job. At the same time, I’m motiving in financial reporting an uptick in companies cutting staff by large numbers. Just a little observation of potential collateral damage where the outcome might be a recession.
I read where one out of three couple breakups these days is due to one partner is eating in bed. Maybe there a new application for Rumba there. It would feel a little weird though. Though that’s what the research says, I doubt that crumbs in bed is the only cause. If you are in love and compatible, a little Cheeto Dust isn’t going to ruin it all.
The America’s Got Talent audience with maniacally cheer and stomp and scream and laugh at just about anything. BTW, I like the young girl who gets into screaming guttural metalic sounding grunge rock. I mean I'm and old guy, so I don't know what exactly what to call it. But she entertains me.
If you are looking for something harder than water, try ice.
I will always vote Republican in this state no matter who is running just so they know there is still one Repub left living here.
The Question:
Name five songs about sunshine or with sunshine in the titles.

As you may have read, California is going to make all gas engines in cars illegal by 2035. So, they are going to rely on mainly all electric vehicles. This, a state that has rolling brown outs now due to Air Conditioning. Oh yeah, and Hydropower possibilities seem to be threatened as the big reservoirs dry up. I think their major objective first should be building major grid structure. You know, like baiscs first.
The large cross on the outside of the bible could be considered a spoiler.
Another Cal law in process, which I don’t think will pass, creates a council composed of several interested parties from fast food workers, ownership and Government. One particularly aggressive aspect of it says that they can only establish a minimum wage lower than $22/hr before 2024. Holy inflation, Batman. That might make a burger and fries about $15 to $18? At that price they would have to add in white tablecloths and the the costs would even go higher.
Making meatballs is a little like petting animals a bit late.
Next week at this time I’ll be typing out the NFL Picks. I can hardly wait.
The best college game this week for me is Pitt against WVa, mainly because it is a really good old fashioned rivalry game; something that may become a thing of the past as the Leagues merge into behemoths. Penn State Fas would say it is their team against Perdue that is a big game. Boston College fans are high on meeting Rutgers in a possible interleague eastern rivalry.
Did you see where somebody is making shoes for penguins? Who knew?
Correction: Yesterday I made a comment about Rachel Williams who is suing Netflix over her portrayal in Inventing Anna. I obviously was commenting on Anna (Sorokin) Delvey thinking that Rachel was an alias of hers. Wrong! Rachel is the woman who was scammed by Anna and was depicted in a negative yet actually truthful manner way. The problem is that Netflix should have a had an alias for her.
I ordered an extension course, “How to Deal With Life’s Disappointments”. Yesterday, I got the first lesson by post. It was an empty envelope.
I titled yesterday's Tids, “Headache” because that's what I had when I finished writing it.
I hate my mood swings. They’re great!

Happy birthday Debbie Gibson. I actually thought she was Debbie Boone and Iwas going to play one of her songs thinking it would be You Light Up My Life. But I wasn’t familiar with any of Gibson’s. So, I’ll still play Boone instead. A little romantic Schmalz for hump day!
