Today's Tids Issue 5,745
Small World:
The definition of Gaslighting: “The act or practice of grossly misleading someone especially for one's own advantage.” (Webster)
The above was a service of the Tids psycho-intervention department just in case you feel confused this morning. Like I always thought Ukraine was defending itself against the aggression of Russia, Silly me.
Speaking of mornings, I have a tendency to run around naked... So every morning I spray myself with Windex, to prevent me from streaking.
In an early look at the 2025 financial world, it shows a definitive investor shift form US Stocks to Global holdings with European stocks being hot. Last week inflow to European markets jumped to a two-year high. Money movement next was into gold then US Stocks. Interacting with global economic activities is what it is all about. The internet assured us of that.
I went to the paint store to get thinner. It didn't work.
The Question:
Chase, Belushi, Ackroyd, Radnor, Curten Newman and Morris were the first cast of SNL. But Ackroyd went onto make 15 movies and win an Oscar. Name five of his movies and for which one did he win an Oscar?

I thought this morning’s news was rather disturbing. And it wasn't because it was cold outside.
In the Roadrunner cartoon, the coyote has been chasing him for 25 years. I'd like to see him finally get right up to him and go "Sorry, I thought you were someone else."
This Tids seems sluggish as me. It must be the wear and tear from a spinning head.
You may remember that about a month ago the insightful Tids financial department suggested that tariffs and the loss of low-cost labor through deportation could be inflationary. The Fed said the same in their minutes from their Jan 27/28 meeting.
There is no question in my mind that illegal entry into the USA is a crime, but it is in fact cheap labor. I have for years suggested a green card temp worker system where meandering workers could be monitored and yet still help produce affordable goods and services. For a lot of US products to compete on a global basis and stay within the vicinity of American wallet limitations there must be lower cost labor or all automation. US skilled labor is just too expensive. That is called a conundrum.
The good news is that Harry and Meagan said yesterday they have never been closer. And that my fellow Tidsters is what America is all about – happy, contented celebrity relations.
A person's tendency to discover drugs in unexpected places is called Potluck.
I watched the SNL 50th and there were good laughs, but it became tedious, and I lost interest. Dan Ackroyd not being there was disturbing, I spent the night waiting for the Blues Brothers to dance.
Rogue Agent is a pretty good movie and definitely keeps you interested. And it is a lot more than what the title seems to say.
A sunny, 30-degree, no wind day is a good day for a nice walk.
I personally don't believe I had ever seen an open schoolyard fight at the Global intercountry level than the one being waged to day Zelensky and Trump. Zelensky is no more a dictator than Putin is an open and free election advocate. Gulag anybody?
What do you call it when Cain insults his brother? Disable.
