Today's Tids Issue 5,766
Smiling Dolphins:
I was transfixed. I sat there for over an hour last evening watching that splashdown and recovery. I couldn't leave even as the local and national news programs called. I guess it is that desire by humans to have other humans survive... that innate happiness for others. Did I see dolphins swimming? Yes I did!
Today is "Z” Day in Rhode Island and I'm sure elsewhere. The “Z” stands for Zeppole which are delicious pastries filled with luscious creams and cherry on top. It seems around here that millions are baked to celebrate Saint Joseph's Day for the Italian communities two days after Saint Pat;s for teh Irish. The Italians don’t wear kilts but their food is much better. Happy ”Z” Day everybody.
Think of that splashdown yesterday and the technology it took to get there. And I'm thinking that videos of this shown in 2090 will make this event look like the horse and buggy days of 1870. If indeed there is a 2090.
Will somebody help me get “Co-Pilot” off my back!
Why do all astronauts use a mac? Because it's dangerous to open windows in space.
The Question:

It is very difficult these days commenting on what se going on. There are some things I want to happen but there are many things I don’t like at all. The current environment just proves to me that everything is not black or white where human beings are involved. But what it boils down to is that good societies are run by reasonable people under sensible laws that apply to everybody from immigrant wannabees to Presidents.
You have to wonder what “Hal” would think having to endure an ocean splashdown. “I'm rusting, I'm rusting>”
Jake Lang who allegedly was beating Capitol police with a shield and baseball bat while “Taking over the Capitol”, who was pardoned while awaiting trial, announced he was running for the US Senate from Florida. He has no regrets, makes no apologies. He will possibly be running against Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio.
Vladimir Putin has boasted that Russia is planning to build a base on the moon. The idea is that astronauts will live there permanently. When they were asked if they really wanted to spend the rest of their lives in a barren, lifeless, empty landscape, the Russians said... "No. That's why we want to go to the moon."
The AKC just announced the three most popular dog breeds for 2024. The French Bulldog was on top for the third consecutive year. The other two are no strangers either – the Labrador retriever and Golden Retriever. The thought is that the Frenchies are more popular not only because of their personalities but because more people are living in smaller apartments the dog just fits better.
If athletes get athlete's foot, what do astronauts get? Missile toe.
I believe we will see a lot of scrambling for the next year as legal challenges increase in the wake of Admin actions. For a conservative Admin they are certainly looking at liberal interpretation of the law and constitution.
