Truth.

Today's Tids Issue 5771

Gotcha:

There are too many headlines today on which to comment without creating a serious headache. Regardless of whether you love or hate Trump pronouncements, the common denominator seems to be him wading into legal and constitutional obstacles which bring court actions moving everything on a path to the Supreme Court. Which I have believed from the beginning is his real objectiveestablish the upper limits of the executive branch.

The University of a Rhode Island had a basketball player whose name was Always Wright. No kidding.

The Question:

Which States are most dependent and least dependent on US Department of Education Funding?

The Headlines:

--Tariff Guessing Pushes Nasdaq Down as Hump Day Begins; New Worries on Auto Tariffs Bury Nas Deep and Sinks Dow and S&P; Nvidia and Tesla pummeled.

--Trump Sign EO for Wide Reaching Voting Reform.

--Barclay's Latest Big Bank to Slash 2025 Stock Market Outlook.

--At “All Hands" Tesla Meeting Yesterday, Musk Assures Stockholders and Employees that he is Back and Things will be OK ; Stock Rose 12%; Stock Has Been Down 28% as Euro Sales Slip.

--Atlantic Releases War Plan Emails After Testimony from Principles to Congress said Info Not Classifieds; Euro Diplomat Says he is Not Surprised at US Distain for Europe

--US Scales Back Official Greenland Visit to One Day; Vance and Wife will Only Visit US Pittufik Space Base which is Possibly Normal and less Threatening to Greenland Leaders and Denmark.

--Death of 42-Year-Old Former Virginia US Attorney Jessica Aber Ruled as Natural Causes; She had fought Longtime Illness.

Here's an interesting little bit of news from today – Ali Baba (Great Chinese Software, AI, ECommerce Company) is teaming up with Germany's BMW to bring cars to China. Is this the beginning of Europe saying we don't need the US?

It seems that the new trend for US politics is that every four years going forward it is all about beating up those who just left. Thats not where we want our energy to go. That we may be forever forward only about fifty percent of us. And that is a shame and w quite frankly, inefficient.

Well, that's enough of that crap. Tomorrow I'm going to be loving and funny.

In case you are interested, Atlantic Mag is the oldest Magazine in America, founded in 1857 as a Literary and Cultural commentary and named Atlantic Monthly. Some of the earliest Atlantic writers were guys and gals like Longfellow, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Harriet Beatrice Stowe and Oliver Wendel Holmes.

I actually worked for a magazine founded around the same time, a news Weekly for Americas Manufacturing Industries'. I always told people proudly that we were older than Atlantic Monthly. But AM worked hard to find a way to survive, and we faded along with US manufacturing and the Steel industry

In case you are confused, the truth is, Noah's wife is not Joan of Ark.  (Thanks FC)

Here's some questions: When Atlantic's Goldberg found himself on a conversation about war planning, should as he a good American brought it to the attention of the US Government immediately? Or as a journalist, does he take as good fortune the opportunity to learn about the inside working if the government to better serve the obligation of the press: To be the watchdog of the government for the people. Would Goldberg have suppressed the information if Biden was in Office.? Would Biden have known what he was talking about?

There are three truths in religion: 1) Jewish people do not recognize Jesus as the Messiah. 2) Protestants do not recognize the Pope as the leader of the Christian faith. 3) Baptists don't recognize each other in the liquor store.

Trump Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is a no nonsense, tough, aggressive defender of fhe Admin, but I think some of her apologies are wearing thin. The best thing for the truth is to admit obvious mistakes clearly obvious to the people watching

I spent time this morn looking for good jokes about “Truth. Many I found were likePoliticians only tell the truth when they call their opposition liars.” Finally, I found something that you can never truthfully write down on paper, “This pen doesn't work”!

As you may have noticed I have talked for the past couple of years about the dramatic changes we can expect as the NIL and Portal system in college athletics advances. Just yesterday I mused on whether even the great Big East with many smaller Catholic colleges will be able to face the w rgw competition from big money football schools. Yesterday 2025 Mad Madness participant Saint Francis of Pennsylvania dropped it program form DI to DIII – you know where they play for their schools and not the system. I believe that is the tip of the iceberg as we watch tle money melt down the traditions

Being a Hate Trump” reporter doesn’t mean what is being reported is fallacious.

I think Target would do better with their supermarket section if they moved towards the front of the store. Not only is food hard to get to, but their prices also don’t reward the searching.

The Answer:

The most dependent on Funding are in order: #1 Mississippi followed by South Dakota, Montana, Alaska, Arkansas, North Carolina, Kentucky, Arizona, Oklahoma and Tennessee. The least dependent on Funding are New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Kansas, Maine, Vermont Colorado and Illinois. Hmmm... all the New England states but RI. Wasn't Kristi Noem Governor of South Dakota?

Happy Birthday Steven Tyler, too:
