Discordance.

Today's Tids Issue 5,998

Can't do what:

It's been super, ultra cold

All day, through the Night.

And I have no complaints;

It keeps snow pure and white.

Did you ever think you could have a condescending trash pickup guy? I do.

One of the oddities is how people will tend to do something when everybody else does it. For instance. Let's say there is an event with tickets going on sale at a given hour and everybody will cram the phone or internet at the same time. It happens when people register for classes or for conferences. It happens when everybody drives on the same day for a holiday. Yet waiting an hour or a day would be like a God-given gift. And what happens -- People get mad, they get mad at systems; they get mad at good people going out of their way to do the right thing to help. They get mad at people who design roads and internet configurations. Don't you think there are already too many angry people in this world? Patience is comforting. And you know what, if you wait a few hours or a day you generally miss nothing. And your heart beats a little slower. Except of course in February

A good reader writes to ask: What did one hat say to the other hat? You stay here, I’m going on ahead.”

The Question:

Which Redford film inspired him to start the Sundance Film Festival?

The Headlines:

--Wall Street Analyzing Overall Earnings Reports; Private Job Creation Number Paltry, 50% Lower Than Estimates; AMD Plunges after Soft Outlook; Street Waiting for Alphabet Reports.

--Russian Maintains Heavy Bombardment of Ukraien.

--Washington Post Plundered as 1/3 of all Employees affected by Harsh Layoffs; Management Calls It “Strategic Reset”; Insiders Call it “Bloodbath”.

--Ransom Note Being Evaluated in Nancy Guthrie Case.

--Ryan Rothm the Man who Plotted to Kill President Trump on a Golf course, is sentenced to Life in Prison.

--At Westminster Dog Show, Doberman Pincher “Penny” wins BoS over Chesapeake Bay Retriever “Cota”. Other Finalists were Afghan Hound, Maltese, and an English Sheepdog named “Graham”.

Critics and audiences often don't appear to have seen the same movie. And that is very obvious iwith the Melania two hour bio-based pic. The critics at large didn't like it at all. But it was a box office hit for a documentary. That is a discrepancy spelled p-o-l-i-t-i-c-s to me.

People love pulled pork and other country southern Barbecue specials. I don't know why.

Why did the chicken go to the seance? To get to the other side.

Let's see, I take a shower before seeing a dermatologist and brush my teeth before seeing a dentist; I go on a diet before a visit to the GP. but I dony have to do anything before I see an ophthalmologist. It's like a comfort day... until I’m intimidated by the eye charts.

A lot of people don't like the Washington Post saying it is too Liberal. But its massive overhaul today including a massive ax to a lt of hardworking people, saddens me. I appreciate the dogged work of all newspaper people, the deadlines they face, the battles they fight with editors; trying to remain relevant to a new generation that has no memory of its greatness in the world of communication. Yeah, it is the end of an era for sure. I hate ends of eras.

Interesting. Luigi Mangion, the guy who everybody with a TV saw pull a trigger and shoot in the back United Health CEO Brian Thompson has had his charges reduced from murder to Stalking with death resulting. Ryan Routh who was stalking Trump with gun in his possession but never pulled a trigger has just been sentenced to life in prison. You can argue among yourselves tonight.

Why can’t you explain puns to kleptomaniacs? They always take things literally.

The Answer:

As you probably know, Redford’s Sundance festival was created to promote the talent of independent film makers. The film that Redford produced and started it all was was Downhill Racer. He loved skiing, but what made him see the need for an indie recognition forum were the battles he fought with the Hollywood bigs just to get the film made and distributed

So, heres song number three on our way to Feb 14.
