And then there was nothing.

Issue 6,018

Anything going on out there?

The Texas Primary got all the ink, but the North Carolina vote may be the Most Important. In Texas the Repubs are running it off in May as the Tids crack political editors said yesterday. The big news in the Lone Stars vote was the win by the Dem Christian Talarica, a soft-spoken candidate trying to bridge partisan politics saying it is time to move away, from blood bath, insult laden campaigning. That seems to be a salable message these days, and Repubs are worried about him, especially if he faces Paxton. Over in NC there may be a bigger problem for Repubs their battle to retain the Senate. Former popular two-time Gov Roy Cooper walked in and will face Trump pick Michael Whatley in what could be the biggest race in November. Stay tuned.

I see where the word Swiftie a has been added to the Dictionary. It will be understood until Loony Tunes uses it in an a cartoon.

I walk through a Target store thinking it is clean and bright and full of stuff, but no sense of urgency to buy anything. And then I always wondered why how serious they were about the grocery biz, since they buried it so far away from the front door... like an afterthought. So naturally, I'm not surprised the chain's earnings have been flat and sales stagnant. I had a good feeling about Target from their slick advertising and healthy looking logo. But trying to march step by step with Walmart is a tough act to match.

Nancy Guthrie has been missing for a month or so now. It is hard to believe that an 80 something woman who relied on heart meds to live, coudl go this long without them. It is one of the more unusal mysterious disappearances I have have known.

I liked the Neflix series Unfamiliar. But in the end, it seemed they were setting us up for a season 2. I walked away fulfilled and empty at the same time. Oddly, life can be like that.

BTW, NCIS got real tedious last year with the never-ending Parker story. He's not my favorite character so I didn't care what was happening to him. But last night they got back to a story that had a little eeriness to it. My personal opinon is that the side and backstories they bring into decent potential dramas take away from pulsating thriller enjoyment. But then I feel the same about side stories in the Olympics. Show me the action. I guess for ratings you need human stories.

A new report says the Services Sector of the US economy slowed noticeably. I think it is Oen of the overpriced areas of our economy. I am constantly amazed at what I pay in grocery stores and restaurants, but a service call really hits the wallet hard. It most likely won’t subside as many service jobs have been gobbled up by VC.s. And, that don’t add anything but cost.

A US submarine today sank an Iran warship off of Sri Lanka. Say what! Sri Lanka is 2,678 mile to the east of the war. Oops.\\

We build a lot of submarines around this regional neighborhood. It's nice to see they still do something., That was the first sinking of an enemy warship by a US sub since WWII

Everybody is on edge about the upcoming NCAA March Madness event. But back here NCAA Hockey is heating up. Providence College just beat Boston College for the Hockey East Title by a lot. PC is ranked 6th nationally after North Dakota, Michigan, Michigan State, Western Michigan and Denver. I guess getting past the state of Michigan is a key. PC has a hot goalie and has won the National title . BTW, all of this States NCAA men's Basketball programs are in the dumpster, but they get the local ink. And that's abummer. Maybe it;s because BB produces bigger gabling pots.

You’d never get the idea that I'm a happy go lucky, positive, optimistic guy from reading the doom and gloom in this morning mess.

I really like fish. But it seems to me that a lot of restaurants pile on ingredients that disguise the flavor of fish so they can sell it to people who don't like fish but want to say they do.

Its easy to be related to all kinds of famous, rich and powerful people if you go back to the 1400’s to find ancestors.

BTW, a lot of people I talk to Repubs and Dems think like Talarico of Texas, the guy who just won teh Dem Primary for the Novembre Senate race. Yeah, a lot of people are tired of insult politics, venom anger at the opposition. That is why I read that Repub leadership is nervous about Texas and perhaps other elections come November. I’m not kidding, people are tired of the rhetoric.

The Answer:

It's a little Meteor. Bonus: Short. Extra Bonus: The flag is a big plus.

Oh noooooooo! Gotta run.
