Astronomers continually find new phenomena that surprise them. See, we are still in our infancy. Maybe someday we'll put it all together. But that could be light years away.
For me, I realize how out of it I am when I go to buy a brand-new pair of shoes. What happened to my favorite old comfortable styles.
For political junkies, today begins the big domestic war --- the Texas primaries. The Repub race for the Senate seat is a three man event with nobody likely to get over 50% meaning a run-off in May. The Dem primary is nip and tuck. Texas is important because it is so Red. But lately there a have been surprising results. The favorite for Repubs is state AG Paxton over incumbent Cornyn and Rep Wesley Hunt.
Did you hear about the racing snail that got rid of his shell? He thought it would make him faster, but it just made him sluggish.
The Question:

I personally believe it is good to keep beat-up old pots and pans. Yeah, an old, blackened pot or dented pan is quiet the reminder of all the great meals a family has eaten together.
War Polls, Department:
In the first post war poll (48 Hours after start, Reuters/Ipsos Poll: 1 in 4 Approve of Srikes that killed Supreme Leader; 43% disapprove and 29% aren't sure. Briken down politically, Dems are almost entirely against it. But 56% of all including Repubs believe that Trump is too willing to go to war. If the deaths of US military mount up, Repub support would drop to 44% and if Gas prices soared it would go down to 34%, against 55% of Repubs approving overalll in this poll. Emotions will be volatile as this one wears on.
Personally, this thing is so in its early stages, it is hard to make projections other than that the US has more power.
There will be some real hits to the stock markets but wait and see will probably work best.
In an effort to replace Anthropic as a favorite with the Pentagon, Sam Altman saidof his company Chat GPT (Open AI) that they did not cave on key moral principles that Anthropic fought for being against – use for autonomous weapons and mass domestic surveillance. But readers of the agreement wonder if Open AI’s legal document can live up to the promises. The Pentagon wants to rush AI to the battlefront according to observers. This will be something to watch.
Did you hear about the kid who started a business tying shoelaces on the playground? It was a knot-for-profit.
I’d much rather be watching Rumsfeld at the podium than Hegseth.
The Answer:
Green was associated with fertility. Today if they wore it, it would be for the environment. Bonus: The Emerald City was meant to represent “Greenbacks”, Money, Wall Street.
