Who says?

Today's Tids Issue 3,820
For Small Egos:

I meet every once in a while with a bunch of writers to discuss the ins and outs about what we strive to do better. It’s really quite enlightening to see how different minds express the same thing. Each has something unique to deliver, providing various illuminating insights into one subject. Who says Hemmingway or Williams or Shakespeare are the greatest writers – critics and English teachers? Who established criteria for what is great? Maybe decent writers without egos should determine what is a level above. It’s like lots of stuff in life where people feel they are under achieving according to what are often arbitrary standards, when in fact they are performing just fine. At least that’s how I fool myself each morning.

All day long I get news announcements ringing into my phone: health care, car wrecks, Trump tweets, investigations, Dem accusations, Repub rebuttals, Celebrity traumas -- you know the drill. And then came yesterday, when I finally got one that was meaningful – “Donta Hightower Re-signs with New England Patriots”. Perseverance pays!

Best post big storm that missed, headline: “Flake News”.

The Question:
What do you think are the ten Highest Fiber Foods? Pre-Green Bonus. What are the five most popular Irish songs sung by Americans?

“Global Shrinking”. How inane is that headline plastered on the front page of the paper this morning. You probably heard that news blip about some scientists trying to justify their government grants by announcing what they have found may be relevant to today’s hysteria. All they have proven is that Global Warming is probably naturally cyclical and not man made. Oh, their examples of extreme shrinking due to what they believed was a spike in carbon dioxide due to intense global warmth changes… happened 54 million years ago! Yikes.

Athletes were smaller fifty years ago. So, how come they’re growing bigger under “Global warming”?

The worst day to fly this summer is July 9th. According to cheapfares.com, the average airfare for this summer is $384, but on that day, it is $100 more.

A few issues ago I wrote about being proud of country, family and loved ones. Yesterday I realized also that I’m proud of the fact that we have places like Shriners Hospital, which do so much for such young lives so disadvantaged so early in the game. Love is dancin’.

Now that NFL free agency is coming to an end, let’s take a look at the new power ranking for the 32 teams. The top ten as of this morning are Patriots, Falcons, Steelers, Raiders, Giants, Packers, Cowboys, Seahawks and Buccaneers. Yes, those Tampa Bay Buccaneers! Note also that the raters say that Atlanta is quite capable of slipping to as low as ninth. The lowest five are Cleveland, New York Jets, Forty-Niner’s, da Bears and LA Rams. Personally, I think the Browns are going to surprise a few exerts next year.

Have you noticed how small a percentage of the medical bills is actually approved by Medicare or insurance companies? So, I’m thinking that the next time The Tids Insurance Company is billed for a service not covered by Medicare or Insurance, I will say, I only approve 40 % of that bill. Think I have a chance.”

Yes, I do qualify for Medicare. Hard to believe, isn’t it?

Speaking of Insurance, Life Insurance companies are having a really tough time getting customers. Maybe too many American’s are getting used to being bailed out by the Government!

Let’s hope that Trump does create a lot of new jobs, because it seems a lot of government employees will be looking for work.

I’m sure that pharmacists do a lot of good things, but I see it as a pretty tedious career. But who am I to disparage something I know nothing about. And besides, I like my pharmacists.

The NY Times Repeatedly wrote during the campaign that Trump never paid taxes. So at least, Rachel’s disclosure of $38 Mil Paid in 2005 kind of put NYT’s knowledge in perspective. BTW, Maddow’s pre promotion of the findings turned out to be a lot like Rivera’s Capone safe caper.

The Answer:
My source has Pears at the top. Next are Oranges, Dried figs, Blueberries, Apple with skin, Dried Peaches, Strawberries, Bran Flakes, Rye Bread and Mixed Grain bread. Pre-Green Bonus: There is a big difference between what Americans’ sing on St. Pat’s day and what they sing over on the old sod. Here we have When Irish Eyes Are Smiling, McNamara’s Band, Danny Boy, Too Ra Loo Ra Loo Ra, Sweet Rosie O’Grady, My Wild Irish Rose, Mother Machree, The Same Old Shillelagh, I’ll Take You Home Again Kathleen, Did Your Mother Come From Ireland?, Who Threw the Overalls In Mrs. Murphy’s Chowder, Galway bay, H-a-r-r-i-g-a-n, Molly Malone, The Rose of Tralee and several more. Many were popularized by John McCormick and later Bing Crosby.

Will be back tomorrow with The Parking Lot. And Maybe with evidence of the Trump Tower wiretapping. I’m checking with Rachel now. If I can’t find any, I’ll make it up. That seems to be popular these days.
