Thinking in Unison:
You
need to be an accountant or mathematician these days to
read and understand the baseball sabermetric centric sports pages. I tend to
look more at the heart of the player. Call me a romantic.
I
used to look at TV news clips showing mobs chanting
in the streets of third world and socialist countries, and think, God, it’s great
to be an American where we are at least sane; where we can intelligently and
calmly talk out our differences. Hmmmm.
Russian
nest dolls are generally disliked because they are so full of
themselves.
The
nut,
if the same person, sending bombs for Soros, Clinton And Obama is not doing
Repubs any favors.
The
World Series these days basically means that I wake up in
the morning to find that I have slept on the couch.
The
Question:
Who were John Allen Muhammed and Lee Ben Malvo?

If
you are looking for a quiet place in the cacophonous
Washington DC to enjoy a cup of coffee and a good sweet bread, you might stop
into the new Starbucks “Sign Language” shop near Gallaudet U. No matter what
you think about Starbucks, they are very good at looking at the needs of
various groups of people.
There’s
no truth to the rumor that the Democrats in Congress are
calling on Trump to send troops to our northern borders under attack from 8,000
Russians coming in to vote for Republicans. Yes, there is no truth --Dems would
never ask the president for anything.
Separated
at birth: Tim Cook and Anderson Cooper.
The
“Battles” on The Voice had their final bouts Monday and Tuesday.
In the Tuesday event I enjoyed quite a bit the duels between David Fenley and Keith
Paluso, and Jake Wells and Natalie Brady. The Brady-Wells effort, especially the
super smooth opening, was particularly pleasant to hear, and while I liked the
pick of Jake, I thought Natalie should have been stolen. Dave Findley is a real
performer, but Keith stolen by Adam could be one of the surprises. 13-Year-old
Reagan Strange was eerily good. The fan favorites for the night were Wells,
Strange and Fenley. Last night on the voice, the final for the battle rounds, the
best of the group was probably Kameron Marlowe who beat another one I liked, Kayley
Hill. Also, Sarah Grace could be a contender.
There’s
new electric car on the drawing boards that will suck up
miles without filling up. Yes, Dyson company, the big vacuum cleaner imagineer is
getting into the race begun by Tesla. We are in a new era of engineering
diversity, when interdisciplinary transfer is easily facilitated though chips and
software. Of course, you have to have bright, open minds to make it work.
Once
I asked a management guy why he was still personally drawing
plans for customized machinery products instead of using CAD/CAM. He said it
was because that is what he was good at, and he liked it. That’s why apparently
good companies with competitive products go under.
Apple’s
new big three are iPhone XR at $750, XS at $1,000 and Max
XS at $1,100. For $250 bucks less, the only things the XR doesn’t have is a double
lens camera and the ultimate pixel’s for screen clarity. I would bet that the screen
clarity of the XR is far better than what I have now, and I think what I have
is perfect. $250 is $250, and I see no need to spend more, unless, I guess, if
I’m a professional photog.
Women
spend more time wondering what men are thinking than men
spend thinking.
The
big controversary today in Providence RI is an example of the
problems in US dialogue. The argument is whether or not to accept a plan that would
be a step towards assuring that the city would have a platform upon which to
grow into the future or stay firmly in the past. Like the New America, when opposing
sides seem dug-in with little sense of looking to blend Ideas, like in this instance
where the historic character of the city could easily be preserved while opening
a door to a progressive, competitive future. Blending for the future is the result
of bending in the present.
The
Answer:
Muhammed and 17 yo Malvo were the Washington DC snipers
of 2002. Muhammed was executed and Malvo is in jail.
In
all honesty, I’m not really looking for any dramatic
new technology for my home life. Just lower prices. Techno advancement should find
a way to make things cheaper.
