Human feelings.

Today's Tids Issue 4,235
For all those whose homes disappeared:

The rain is pouring the skies are dark, but unlike Florida and parts around, we here up in the north are just getting wet. The sun is shining again upon the broad white sands of the Gulf coast shores, but the reflections are of heartbreak. We have our journey’s but none like those who have nothing to build on. The endless rain is trickling down my windows, but I only see that as the tears of those who are wondering why; where do I go.

A striking piece of news today is the increase in the mortgage rate to over 5% for the first time since 2011. Home prices have been soaring to the point where the theory of supply and demand could fail. Demand for homes is extremely high and the inventory is relatively low, but the inflationary home prices now coupled with that mortgage rate is shoving more people to the sidelines. So, while it all should be a seller’s market, you have to have a stable of buyers who actually have the money to participate. This will be an interesting segment to watch, as economics temper hysteria.

Boisterous-ism Rules, Department:
A new survey of America says that only 8% of Americans are considered “Progressive Activists”. I guess focused TV cameras can make mountains out of molehills.

The Rubik cube has never been good for my self-esteem.

There is a good chance that the next Dow target will be the elusive 27,000

The Question:
A contestant on The Voice last week was the daughter of Journey’s keyboardist. Her Dad wrote several of the band’s best-known songs. Who was he and what songs did he write?

If you don’t make future plans, you don’t have to worry about weather forecasts.

CNN has become basically irrelevant.

There’s no truth to the rumor that Trump initially got tough with Canada because their geese were ruining his golf courses.

It’s nice to see the early October earnings reports coming out positive.

Comedian Stephen Fry produced a poetry writing book called, “The Ode Less Traveled.”

I used to rely on Fx for great drama series. But, lately, the cupboard has been bare, at least to my entertainment standards.

The New York Football Giants may have one of the greatest running backs in history. I mean, this kid Saquon Barkley is thrilling. But, running does not give you championships, and last night that team looked miserable despite the excitement from Barkley.

Reading Between the Lines Movie Reviews:
--The First Man is probably a pretty good yarn about the extremely dangerous mission that put the first man on the Moon. It explores Neil Armstrong and his sacrifices during that journey to being number one. This is a well-executed real human drama.
--Bad Times At the El Royale is probably not too bad a movie. It’s a kinda goofy film at times, but sticks to the old tried and true formula of seven strangers meeting in a run-down hotel, each with a secret to bury, and looking for redemption before time runs out. Excellent cast. Could be worth a senior priced ticket.
--Audiences like Beautiful Boy. It’s a well told story based on the memoirs of a father and son. It relates a wrenching, yet inspirational tale of “Survival, relapse and recovery” about a family coping with addiction.
--Goosebumps 2: Halloween should be a grabber, but the Halloween havoc caper fails to deliver.

The Answer:
Jonathon Cain is in the Rn’R Hall Of Fame and wrote some great songs for Journey, and other bands: Don’t Stop Believing, Faithfully, Working Class Man. He co-wrote songs with Steve Perry – Open Arms and Who’s Crying Now, plus a joint effort with Perry and Schon, When You Love A Woman.BTW, the daughter failed to turn a chair, although I thought she was decent.

Don’t let storm clouds ever get you down, regardless of how black they may appear. Bleak is bleak, but striving is light.

Jonathon Cain wrote “Faithfully” for his first wife of three! (Hmmm. On the road is a lonely place.) That’s him on the piano. This is a nice dreamy way to get into the weekend:
