A little lite fun week:
I think I’ll lead today’s effort with my final 8, 4, 2, 1. If you think it looks odd, just consider it a typo! My elite 8 are Virginia, Kansas, Michigan, UConn, Winthrop, Arkansas, Illinois and Houston. The final four are Virginia, Michigan, Winthrop, Illinois. Michigan will beat Illinois for the title. The one I debated most was Virginia beating Gonzaga. Oddly, I’ll probably be rooting for Gonzo to win it all. Of teams I like personally I had in my Sweet Sixteen, West Virginia, Georgetown and UConn. At one point it looked like BYU was becoming my Cinderella team but Winthrop mad it bigger o my charts.
It does feel like spring. Yup, it sure does. Until we get a surprise snowstorm or worse like they are in Colorado.
I really hate rereading my Tids after I have pressed “Send” because invariably discover horrendous typos which plague me for the rest of the day to the point where I find myself myself thrashing my back with horsehair whips, praying for release from the torment as a result of mindless editing. It’s tough being a Tids editor.
I saw a little squib about a Law Professor at Georgetown being fried for words considered “Abhorred” and “included reprehensible statements”. As usual the news report just focused on the accusatory adjectives without giving us the actual spoken words upon which we could make our own judgement. So, I looked it up, finding that the Professor named Susan Sellers said, “You know what? I hate to say this, I end up having this angst every semester that a lot of my lower ones are Blacks," She says. "Happens almost every semester and it's like ‘oh come on.” It looks to me that she was pointing out a fact that saddened her. What’s your judgment?

There is no question in my mind that the Grammys are far more dangerous for children than Dr. Suess. It’s not even close.

Dan Crenshaw for Repub President nominee. It’s time to look at younger, good, sharp, realistic conservative leaning peep, who can excite a broad mix of voters and make America great again. We will need that when Biden gets through with us. Let’s get past the hacks who have thrown their hats into the ring too many times. Here’s a couple of lists that show current thinking among voters and schemers for 2024: Politico has it Mike Pence, Nikki Haley, Josh Hawley, Ron DeSantis, DT Junior and the Trumpster himself. MarketWatch voter poll has Pence and DT Jr. dominant with Haley right there. It also adds into the mix Ivanka, Rubio, Pompeo Abbott, Rick and Tom Scott. And there may be a good one among these 8 conservative women: Morgan Zegers, Randi Reed (I don’t vote for people named Randi Yes, I’m shallow), Tara Campbell, Nicole Malliotakis, Jessica Taylor, Michelle Fischbach, Nancy Mace and Beth Van Dyne.
I also Like Susan Martinez, former Governor of new Mexico.
And not a mention of Crenshaw who may be the best of them all. Here’s a guy who is smart, brave, experienced, with impeccable credentials and a guy with a sense of humor and willingness to face critics, outrage culture and SNL comedians head-on. Imagine that, a President with a sense of humor.

While we’re in DC here’s are lists of most conservative and most liberal senators in Congress: Most liberal are (were) our now VP Kamala, Bernie, Kirsten Gillibrand, Jeff Merkley, Cory Booker, Mazie Hirono, Ed Markey, Richard Blumenthal, Amy Klobuchar, Richard Durbin and Chris Van Hollen. The most conservative are Marsha Blackburn, Joni Ernst, Mike Braun, Jim Inhofe, Kevin Kramer, Tom Cotton, John Cornyn, James Risch and Marco Rubio. In the house, most liberal were: 0.00 Rep. Barbara Lee, Janice “Jan” Schakowsky, Eleanor Norton, Bonnie Watson Coleman, Ayanna Pressley, Sheila Jackson Lee Raúl Grijalva, Adriano Espaillat, Ilhan Omar and Debra Haaland. Socialist AOC is 17th. Most conservative in the house are: Mark Meadows, Ralph Norman, Ron Wright, Matt Gaetz, Vicky Hartzler, Alex Mooney, Paul Gosar, Ted Budd, Debbie Lesko and Randy Weber.
The Answer:
I first got to know and like Macy in Fargo. So, to me, that’s the best he was. But it also appears that fans like him best for that. Next in a rankings list is Cooler followed by Mr. Holland’s Opus, Magnolia, Mystery men, Pleasantville, Door to Door, Sahara, Thank You for Smoking ad #10, The Lincoln Lawyer. Bonus: Nobody ever talks about Dana Delany any more, not even Oprah, so I thought give her a shot at renewed fame in the Tids. Her best movies are, Tombstone, Live Nude Girls, Exit to Eden, Light Sleeper, Wide Awake, True Women, Moon over Parador (Funny), Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Winner Never Quits and Masquerade. I liked her in The Enemy Within. She was also well known for House sitter, Fly Away Home. Of course Delany is best known perhaps for TV”s China Beach and Body of Proof. Extra Bonus: Harvard was originally known as “New College”. Super Bonus; The most beautiful and incredible gift of love is the monument Taj Mahal in India. Built by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan as a memorial to his wife Mumtaz.
One of the more frustrating things for a writer is on that rare day when I think I actually write something special, and maybe even good, I realize that it is just floating out there in a vacuum, which is probably my own mind.
Everyone hates me because I’m paranoid.
