This Little Piggy Ate Roast Beef...:
Well, we got ham steaks, ham butts, center cut loin chops, tenderloin, spam and lots of bacon. Yes, the Senate passed the biggest pork loaded bill the history of the nation. It has the capacity of turning us into Handout Nation; of rewarding bad State, city and town management. (Note I said the exact same thing about bailing our irresponsible Wall Street risk takers in 2009) How will our systems ever self-regulate, work as they should if there is always the prospect of bailouts. Failure should become inspiration for rebooting towards success, and not something to be dismissed and even rewarded. Oink. Oink!
One of the finest drinks of my past repertoire was the classic Gin and Tonic. (The trend to Vodka/Tonic never made it to this purist’s mixology library. It is bland, gold standard Vodka or not.) But, did you know that the G/T elixir from heaven was not invented to enhance the palates and minds of the likes of me, but to cure malaria! I have never had malaria. Better than a shot in the arm!
“Do not touch”, must be one of the scariest things to read in braille.
The Question:
What are considered the Top Ten Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers Films?

I like that Kohls Department Store “Hopscotch” commercial. I used to be pretty good at hopscotch!
There is a lot of music which I call “Rousers”. The kind that makes you stand up and smile like Brahms “Academic Festival Overture” and Britten’s “Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra.” That makes you feel like charging up San Juan Hill with Teddy Roosevelt.
“Be yourself. Everybody else is taken.” –Oscar Wilde
In their hearts, everybody likes gravy. It’s just not polite to talk about it in modern society.
Media Decisions:
Biden, Obama – “Child Migrant Center”.
Trump – “Kids in Cages”.
Same building. Same space.
To this day, the boy that used to bully me at school still takes my lunch money. On the plus side, he makes great Subway sandwiches.
Or, is running a government activity.
Frankly, I never liked Chris and Andrew’s dad Mario.
One of the most disturbing post pork bill passage images was that I saw on NBC Nightly News Saturday night of the President of the USA talking to a black woman in a Zoom like setting and saying to the smiling face, “And I’m going to send you a check for $7,000!” I am still gagging. What kind of incentive is that for Americans in a global competitive world?
Who do you think wrote: “For from the stars above / Descends a glorious light / That lifts our longing to their highest height / And bears the name of love. / Nor is there aught can move / A gentle heart, or purge or make it wise, / But beauty and the starlight of her eyes.” Well, the writer of that poem was Michelangelo! Yes, the lad could paint and write. He exuded a lot of feeling while laying on his back all those days.
Btw, RI was in a deep facial hole before Covid added expense. So, they get rewarded from the PIP, Porcine Indemnification Program. But there are real victims, those forced by government to reduce revenue producing activities, and then insulted by a government that mismanaged the first stimulus program primarily designed to help small businesses survive the ensuing catastrophe. The new Stimulus bill is an inflated s-ham wrapped in pigskin. It is not good for the American way of life.
Books are just TV for smart people.
Harry and Meghan mean nothing to my life. Just two out of work people trying to make a living off of the celebrity they rejected.
The Answer:
Astaire/Rogers movies are the romcoms of today with music and dancing. #10 is Flying Down to Rio, next is Irene and Vernon Castle, followed by The Barkley’s of Broadway, Roberta, Carefree, Follow the Fleet and #4, The Gay Divorcee. The Top Three are Shall We Dance, Swing Time and #1 Top Hat!!
The “Bergamasca” from Respighi’s Ancient Airs and Dances suite 2 is a bit of a rouser. I hope you feel like dancin’ sprightly when it’s over. Or at least, standing up and stretching.
