Today's Tids Issue 6.034
On being first:
The comparisons are incompatible. The fires and rubble and innocents fleeing, versus azaelia's blooming around green hills and rivers flowing gently, fans cheering. We see contradictions simultaneously all the time in our new world. How do our minds cope with it. The Iran war on one site and the Masters on another; the end of a ciilization, the birth of a child.
There is little that can bring you from elation to despair and back up again than being a sports fan. You are with them equally when they win and when they lose. You feel the pain when things seem lost, and you feel your heart erupt when a runner comes sliding home, or a pass is caught in the end zone; when a three pointer goes in at the last minute, when a puck slips by to win it. And at the end of each season you wonder, and you hope. You never stop hoping.
Why isn't Cinderella good at sports? She runs away from the ball. Plus, her coach is a vegetable.
The Question:
Quick – now that Artemis II is completing its homecoming, we should remember that way back 67 years ago in 1959 we heard announced the first seven astronauts. Name them. Bonus: Clowns get a bad rap these days for soe reason unbeknownst to me. But I always thought they were the best part of the circus. Name five of the most famous clowns.

At times I think we have more feeling over the unknown than the known.
Think about the range of emotions felt when the cacophony of the daily madnessis interrupted by a soft melody on a piano.
Are you getting the feeling that this Iran war is Israel’s war?
There are 192 other countries on tis planet and they are all going through traumas or elations of their own.
The NCAA is trying to get the toothpaste back in the tube. Committees are meeting quite urgently now to put in rules that will give transfer portals some sense of sanity. Can they? In my personal opinion, football and basketball have no sense of a relationship with colleges anymore. Oh, the students and alums can still root for the colors (And the alums for their investments), but the power schools and wannabees are all now minor league teams for the pros.
In case you are interested, the Masters is underway and the current leader at –2 is 60-year-old Jose Maria Olazabal. Now there's a story everybody wants to write. The top five and ties at 10:12 are Jose, Sam Burns, Shane Lowrey, Dustin Johnston, Kitayama. Patrick Reed, Max Homa and Nick Taylor.
The feels like a slow growth early Spring, or perhaps it's just that my expectations are too high.
For years I've been trying to teach Word’s Spell-Check and Grammar Assist how to write creatively, and they still don't understand what I’m doing.
The Answer:
The frst seven are Scott Carpenter, Gordon Cooper, John Glenn, Gus Grissom, Wally Shirra, Alan Shepherd and Deke Slayton. Wally Shirra was the only one to have flown in the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo Programs. But they were all superstars in the early exploration of the unknown. Bonus: To me Emmit Kelley was the classic; that sad face; the heartwarming funny guy that kept a smile on my face and captivated audiences around me. Lou Jacobs was another. Other well known in clown circles were Otto Griebling, Bello Nock, Glenn “Frosty” Little, and David Laribel. Did Laribel become Clarabelle ... no, but on Howdy Doody he was another well-known clown as is to day Ronald MacDonald and of course Bozo. Some other well known around clown alley are Joseph Grimaldi and Oleg Popov, The securest clown inreal life was John Wayne Gacy who many feel was fictionalized by Stephen King as Pennywise.
Keep smiling E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y! There is always hope with a luagh in your hrart.
