Really?

Today's Tids Issue 6.028

Onteh April Courts:

Happy April Showers, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!! Isn't it great to know that grey skies and drenching rains will in the delightful somewhat near future result in arrays of color across the mountains and valleys; reflected in crystalline lakes, the seas beyond. And isn’t it disconcerting to know that what is written today may or may not be the truth. (You may have thought that I was going to follow with a clever comment about Trump, but I didnt, did I) One truth for sure is that Easter is a grand rebirth, a day found in love so that humans can reclaim a new beginning. Yeah, of all the months, April is truly a month of hope. Believe me. And of course, in the beginning, a few doubts.

The SC birthright issue being argued today is a tricky call. It's that what is legal versus what is ethical dichotomy. Trump himself may have been the recipient of the birthright advantage as his relatives immigrated these new lands. Millions of American families of all ethnicities can say the same. A couple of things have changed though. All of the century and half of birthright experience have involved legal entrants who came under fair immigration laws, which by the way still stand, But the flow of  “free government money has changed the formula; and has a blind eye to unlawful entry.  Yeah, the old “root of all evil” has induced probably well meaning good people to break laws to get a chunk of USA change. So basically, there is no reason to change the Birthright laws as long as those receiving the rewards of being an American are the children of legal entrants. What is so hard about that? The bigger question really is can a President change a US constitutional amendment by Executive Order. The SC should say no. I think they will.

(Just in case you are interested, Trumps paternal grandfather arrived in the US from Germany in 1885 and Trumps mother came to America from Scotland in 1930.)

The Artemis II crew passing behind the moon just reported seeing a massive pile of all those missing single socks. So there you have it. NASA money works.

The Question:

What is the most famous Radio broadcast of all time?

The Headlines:

--China Buys Iran; Wall Street Bewildered

--Markets Open Q2 Higher; Jobs Report Better than Expected.

--Trump Pardons all CEOs and Foreign Princes who have ever committed a Crime Then, Now or in the Future.

--Trump to Address Nation Today with Important Update on War.

--Iran Says that Trump Clain that Iran Asked for  Cease Fire is Apriol Fool's Joke.

--UK’s Starmer Hosting United Euro Nations to Discuss Solving Hormuz Problem.

Trump to Charge Charles and Camilla Tariffs to Pay for Their Entry into US.

--Tiger Woods Announces He is stepping Back to get Life in order.

--Trump Downplays Expectations for GOP Midterm Elections.

I try to make up moderately humorous April Fools joke for the Tids on April 1, but the utterances of Trump and gossip reports on celebrities are beating me to April fools humor on a daily basis. It;s the old “You Can't make this stuff up”, syndrome.

Kristie Noem is probably thinking about now, “I was really happy in South Dakota”

The President gave us a big April fool's joke yesterday when he signed his EO to restrict mail-in voting and compile a national voter list that will dictate who’s allowed or not allowed to vote. How funny is that, a conservative” federalizing state's voter lists. Well, let's hope it is a joke. Yeah, no real conservatives would unleash the long arms and tenacles of the federal octopus into the hearts of villages and towns of the USA; to strangle freedom and privacy.

Hey, the Red Sox looked real good at 1-0.

The NCAA just announced that it will eliminate the Transfer portal, Student athletes are complaining they just can’t study consistently if they are shifting from school to school each year.

The internal strife of Iran is what is important. Families there are divided with some supporting the religious regime and others look for the rise of rational reason. The real question is, how strong is the religious establishment and will they be able to continue to dominate when the bombing stops.

This is not an April Fool's joke, or is it. For the first time ever the President of the US is sitting in the Supreme Court as the Justices hear arguments. Is it an intimidation strategy. The Trump stare just won’t work there Is there anything this man won't do?

The Answer:

If it was on April 1 instead dof October 30 1938 it would have also been the greatest April Fools prank of all time. It was Orson wells on his, “Mercury Theater on the Air” show adapting HG Wells “War of the Worlds drama as news bulletin. It scared the hell out of miiillons of Americans thinking the US was truly being invaded by Martians

Prelude to Earth is a wonderful thoughtful piece of pure piano music, with an ability to carry you away Maybe help cut through the mist of world incongruities. An atmospheric tone in which to muse about what Easter means. Ludovico Einaudi has the temperament. Make up your own words
