Today's Tids Issue 3,728
For breathing room:
I
enjoy life in the reflections I see; in the eyes of those
loves to be. I find it in response; opinions of those who do and do not agree.
I feel it in honest reactions of unrestrained glee. I shimmer from glistening
images bouncing off a quiet, sunlit sea. From those in my memory of my youthful
spree; dancing to a waltz about Tennessee; placing the angel on our first
Christmas tree. Visions that set me free to flee into fantasy. I love
reflections, except in mirrors, with views of me.
Neil
Cavuto, a pretty smart guy in Business news, is deplored by
the left for his conservative bias, and killed by the right as a liberal lap
dog. People see what they see and it is invariably based something they don’t
truly understand.
If
only orange day lilies were the last flowers to reflect
the fading glow of Autumn. Those bright rascals of summer should be the
memories we carry as winter turns landscapes gray, all of us awaiting the pure white
dustings for Winter’s play. There are so many things that we hope will be, but
as hard as we try, most will be really quite impossible to see. So I can dream,
and reality will be what I imagine for me. Dreams are what’s not today, but
what can someday grow to be.
I
watched the 60 Minutes interview last night and what
impressed me the most, was Ivanka Trump. In fact, we would move towards unity
faster if she became a ventriloquist for Dad.

In
reality, the TV networks own the NFL. This is why this
current ratings decline is so onerous, and why there may be growing panic in the
office of $35 Mil-per-year Chief Roger Goodell.. There are many excuses coming
out of RG’s office, but one fact may bode ill winds for the future of the
league and high paid athletes – streaming of games by millennials. All of a
sudden that has become a huge factor, although some knew it was on the horizon.
Maybe the NFL will start charging gaming sites Fan Duel and Draft King a
content fee!
Upsets
change the world and that is particularly true this week
in NCAA football. How about the Clemson, Michigan and Washington teams ranked
2,43,,4 all gong down. Yikes. That
really throws The Ohio State in to the championship bowl , unless Michigan can
bounce back and take them in the big showdown. In the athletic world, Upsets
make it better for all except the losers.
Dis
and Mis, Department:
Some of the anger at these so-called protests is
based on reported disinformation and misinformation, propagated by Democrat campaigns.
One of the most obvious is the use of scare tactics to besmirch a proposed
Trump promise to the repeal of ObamaCare. In reality, it will most likely be replaced
by a more efficient financial plan hatched by the Repub Congress two years ago,
which already includes Kids staying with parents until 26, no preexisting
condition limitations and no life time caps. That said though, the groups
pretesting didn’t need a reason, as the protests were planned before Trump was
elected. These marches, by all reports are demonstrations for socialism and Trump
is the perfect fodder. In an NPR report, several of the groups were identified
as “Socialist Advantage” (Socialist Alternative), “Socialist Students”, a
communist organization “Answer Coalition”, “Socialist Collective”, “Party for Socialism”
and several more. You get the point, this is not organic, but could be in the future
as more surveys show younger generations infatuated with pleasant sounding
Marxist Doctrines. Like Trump or hate trump, he may indeed be the firewall that
stops irrationality and awakens more people young and old to the realization
that progressive movements have failed for centuries, while America grew.
My
smart phone works better when I don’t have Cheeto dust on
my fingertips.
There‘s
a rumor going around that George Soros is paying protesters.
It may or may not be true. But if it is true, Donald Trump even before taking
office is creating jobs.
Isn’t
it ironic that the groups are complaining about the
constitutional process of the electoral college, while their own progressive
candidate Bernie was nixed by a Democrat political scheme known as Super Delegates.
On
another front, it appears there is rioting in the
streets of Cleveland with chants: “The Chicago Cubs are not Our World
Champions.!” Apparently the MLB office may call the series a draw with
co-Champions – as both teams scored 27 runs. More to come.
Mike
Pence could emerge as one of the USA’s better all-time Veeps.
As opposed to many of the VP’s of the past, he has a particularly significant role
in presenting a balanced executive office to a skeptical public.
I
wouldn’t be honest if I didn’t say that athlete’s hairdos
are often a distraction to my appreciation of their talents. But then, I could
say the same about the POTUS in waiting. Maybe people like hockey because they
wear helmets.
TV
commercials for Medicare and some health care items are a
boon to aging models and actresses.
I
see life as a graph, with a nominal curve that cuts though
divergent disparagers that disagree. It is a pendulum that naturally strives to
find a way back towards the center, if allowed to swing unimpeded. All societies
are built upon a statistical bell curve regardless of their ideologies. The
distribution of talents and ambitions are always ordered in that well-known statistical
display, and always have been. But somehow, critics see relationships that don’t
exist. America is a unique nation that has understood the imbalances and how to
temper the hindrances in a manner that permits unencumbered opportunity. The constitution
is that steady rudder that will navigate a society through change. But, some
would alter that rudder; would set us on a course that has often led to stormy
seas with rocks we cannot see. (I think there were far too many cliché’s in
that thought piece. But, tere is something in there. I know it.)
If
it wasn’t for Omaha Steaks and LL Bean, I wouldn’t get very
much email.
One
of the looming controversies in America, as I see it in Windows
10 Chat rooms, is the loss of the “Undo” feature in Free Cell. Yikes! The
bigger issue isn’t that it is now harder to score well and that the frivolous
are virtually blocked from winning, but that software is too often changed for change
sake, regardless of need. Why does advancement necessarily have to forsake the
past?
The
protesting marchers adhere to their constitutional right
to denounce a constitutionally elected President.
