For Turkey:
How
thankful am I! God inspired scientists to create lots
of pills to keep me moving along. I get to clear out my brain each morning and
send the mess to you. I still know how to keep on smiling, even when I hear
Ellen talking on TV in the background. You know, it’s always a pretty darned
good life if you don’t get sucked into what other people say. If you still can
think for yourself, but have the good sense to listen to rational people who
may have something to offer. I am truly thankful that I can feel and cry and
pray for all people who may be ill or undergoing setbacks. So, I’m basically
thankful all of the time. Because, the negative, misinformed, angry blather that
seems to pervade the environment right now is but a miniscule blotch in a world
full of great, honest, caring people doing good things for each other.
This
would be a really short Thanksgiving Tids if I didn’t have
to pick the NFL games.
One
of the good things about kids still living in their
parents’ basements is that it cuts down on Thanksgiving Day eve travel.

Americans
seem to spend too much time listening to opinions of Celebrities
whose primary talent is being good at not being themselves.
Get
ready for the “Cold Shoulder” look. In case you have
missed it, cold shoulder is a new fashion concept that is rapidly catching on among
all ages and body types. It is any top, to a dress or a seater where the shoulders
areas cut out, thus exposing bare shoulders. It becomes a particular colorful
concept when the shoulders turn blue in icy weather! I’m tired of it already.
The
USS Zumwalt, our Navy’s most expensive ship ever,
and the so-called paragon of advanced technology…failed and got stuck in the
Panama Canal. Maybe Putin hacked into it.
The
Old Tids Sports Department had a nice week going
11-3. That brings the year to 101-58-2 (62.7%). It was tough start this year,
and frankly I think it is still odd, but we are moving along. Three pretty
decent games tomorrow, with ten top one being Washington at Dallas. The Skins
are playing well, but Dallas, and especially Ezekiel, is playing out of its
mind in all areas. And they are at home. It will be a battle, but I have to say
Cowboys. I hate seeing Jerry Jones happy, even on Thanksgiving. Minn Bounced
back, but I’m sticking with a better than projected Detroit team. Indy probably
doesn’t have Luck (With a capital “L”), and Pitt can be decent. Got to go
Steelers. The only other posers are Seattle at TB, Carolina at Oakland and KC
at Denver. Seattle is really much better than TB, but the Bucs have been
surprising and are at home. But, I go Seahawks. Oakland is the new darling of
the AFC, and the Panthers are always dangerous – but not without Kiekly. And
then there is the Denver KC war. KC a big disappointment last week. Denver D
can make a difference and they are home. Denver. Of the rest, I have Houston at
home taking SD in a close one, a mystery Arizona losing to a productive Falcons
at Home and a better-each-week Miami taking SF to its knees. Jax can surprise,
but their warm bodies will be sacrificed in Buffalo’s frigid cold. I’m liking
Titan’s Mariota and he will out pass Chi’s Cutler. Brees knows how to score,
and I see NO over LA. The Giants are starting to impress and their D will be
far too much for Cleveland. Honestly, I am really concerned about my New
England’s D. The Jets are at home and are always up for the Pats. But, Brady is
clicking with a lot of Offensive talent and should win, but maybe closer than
many thinks. Green Bay and Philly on Monday should be a classic. But, GB has
disappeared and Rogers seems off. Philly is at home and playing very well.
A
TV show designed to meet USA diversity standards looks like a
TV program designed by the government, with little regard for creating
believability.
Did
you read where the Denver sheriff’s department was fined
$10K because in a recent new employment campaign they only hired US Citizens.
That’s a no-no in Obama’s new America. That’s
the kind of big government intrusion nonsense that got Trump elected.
Let
‘s be honest, TV programs and movies about good Muslims are no
where near as interesting or as exciting as those with featuring extreme
Islamists.
Bad
Santa II is out, and it reminds me that BSI was a great
example of Hollywood’s fascination with promoting negative views of what was
traditionally good and positive. It’s this kind of negativism under the guise
of humor that helps lower decency standards and enable incivility.
So,
let’s hope mayors across the country aren’t like the
Providence Mayor who is creating Boogiemen from whom he will save his
population. Meanwhile there are real threats in his various city communities, places
where more frequently we hear of random shootings and aggressive stabbings.
This mayor is just another East Side lightweight opportunist who creates
unnecessary fear for his own benefit.
BTW,
the
Muslim guy just arrested by NYC Police for planning an attack on Times Square
was an Uber Driver. I guess the app company does not have and extreme vetting
program.
The
Answer:
Susan Anspach was a pretty good middle of the road
actress who began on Broadway and then made it big in Five Easy Pieces opposite
Nicholson. –Joe Eszterhas was a reporter for the Cleveland Pain Dealer where he
came to possess color photos of the My Lai Massacre. You know what happened
next. He went to become editor of Rolling Stone but gained real fame as a
screen writer for Flashdance, Jagged Edge*, Jade, Betrayed*, Sliver and Basic
Instinct (* Two favorites of mine). –The double chinned, long haired Bruce
Vilanch is probably best known for his Stint on Hollywood Squares. Since 2000,
he has been head writer for the Oscars. So, blame him! -- Salli
Richardson Whitfield is an actress who has had many roles in TV, Stage and
Film. Her TV network Starring role was in CBS’s Family Law. She had recurring
roles in CSI Miami and Rude Awakening.
You saw her opposite Denzel Washington in Antwon Fisher and Opposite
Will Smith in I Am Legend. She has been all over the place. Her longest running
TV role, 6 years, was as Allison Blake in the Syfy comedy series Eureka.
Well
it is Thanksgiving eve, the day before he most pleasant of
all holidays, not based on gifts or candy but on what’s in the hearts of
people. What’s in the hearts of strangers helping others. I wish you all of the
best from the bottom of this old guy’s heart, which at this time of the year is
filled with boundless love for you all.
