For Loving:
I’m
thankful for that blue in the sky that’s always there. And
for the coming cold I seem to bear. Mostly though it’s love of friends and my
beautiful family who care. I’d be very thankful if more of us became aware,
that each of us have true feelings to bare; that most want all people to be
fair. To at least listen, and understand; that is my prayer. Like the blue in
the sky, love in the heart is always there. To share.
A
lot of knowledgeable people who don’t get the headlines say
firmly that pot can absolutely have an adverse effect on many people. Why do
media absolutely accept statements from pot promoters as being good and not
being addictive for all without investigating the entire problems of a
substance that can affect moods and personalities, and definitely worse.
I
get an awful lot of emails from sites that say,
“Last chance for x product I have never even had an inkling to buy”. I wonder
how many people bite and buy solely because it’s their last chance.
I’m
sure everybody who was living in 1963 (except perhaps
newborns) remembers this day well. I do. How can you forget the rifle shot that
blew apart the head of an American President. Last week I wrote about needing a
President with a sense of humor, and I know I was thinking of JFK. I didn’t
vote for him, but I always loved his press conferences and his ability to talk
reasonably to all sides. I think that is a most important mission of that high
office, and he did it awfully well. Actually, I’m chuckling to myself as I
write this, because on this day I remember so much more than the sound of a
rifle shot, the crying, the disbelief. I see the laughter in his eyes..\

The
Golden State Warriors are looking like they are learning now
to play with Kevin Durant. Who wouldn’t.
The
reason stories like the latest Hamilton meets Pence wrangle go
on so long is because it happened on a Friday Night. That means that all of the
so-called experts who don’t work on the weekend think it is their duty to provide
an anxious America with their opinion on Monday. That, and of course. Trump’s stupid
tweeting thing keeping minutia alive, overpowering real issues. Pence handled
it perfectly.
I’d
be real thankful at this time next year if there was
never another Tweet form the Oval Office.
If
you have mega bucks, it may be a good idea to stay away from
Paris. First it was Kardashian, and then Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat.
Yesterday it was two Qatari Sisters who were robbed of $5.3 Million north of
the City of Lights in a well-planned and daring highway robbery.
There
were several good performances on The Voice last night.
Before I get into it, though, I’m wondering why only Blake and Adam talk about
Blake and Adam singers while Miley and Alicia only talk about their singers. Is
there some behind the scenes Girls versus Boys thing going on in the wake of
the Hillary loss. Keyes does not hide her feminist leaning and we know Mile was
a huge Hill backer. It seems tense, less rollicking up there in the big red
chairs. I’m sending two crack Tids reporters out to get to the bottom of that.
Last
night I particularly enjoyed Austin Allsup’s emotional
“Turn the Page”. One of the best of the entire year in my opinion. There really
were no others that were truly outstanding to me, but that isn’t to say there weren’t
pretty good performances. Billy Gilman was once again a flawless singer, but I
wasn’t moved in what was supposed to be his first big play from the heart. I
know We is a very good singer, but I was just bored. I love Sundance generally
and he was also pretty good last night. I think Brandon Fletcher is pretty much
a Johnny one note, but “The River” made him sound better. Another monotone is
Aaron Gibson and while he finished well, he was exhibiting real nerves and
losing notes for a long time before that. I personally Like Courtney Harrell as
a person, but her voice really isn’t that great. I liked the melody of her song
last night, so it wasn’t a total loss. Frankly, I liked Darby Walker last night
and I typically like her performances, but the so-called experts don’t seem to think much of her. Josh Gallagher is real country
Western kind of guy, and he will do well, but doesn’t seem to connect with the
various audiences. Ali blew it with the song choice 9 to 5, which just never
seemed to end.. This woman can really sing, but last night seemed average.
Chris Cuevas (Who got engaged during the
week) really is another with s fine voice. But he ended up screaming the
song Rosanna, which is a song that typically leaves me cold. The ITunes
charting has begun. Most of the singers made the top 100 for the day. Here’s
the rankings, which may be a insight into the voting: Sundance #10, Gilman #13,
We #35, Aaron #43, Brandon #45, Allsup $47, #Darby #52, Courtney #70, Josh #98
and Chris #112. What, no Ali!
Meghan
Kelley is out of control. Be careful Kelley, you are not
that good. Maybe she’s shooting for a job on 60 Minutes.
The
Answer:
Edward Teach was the ferocious Pirate Blackbeard. Bonus: I have a hunch some of the greats,
ground breaking female players of the past may be excluded form tis list. I’ve
got two lists to compare. Let’s See, on the first list is Steffi Graf as #1.
She is followed by Serena, Martina, Chris Evert, Margaret Court, Monica Selas,
Billy Jean King, Evonne Goolagong, Venus Williams and Justine Henin. The next list
has it Serena, Steffi, Martina, Billy Jean, Chris, Maria Sharapova, Margaret
Court, Venus Williams, Monica Selas and Martina Hingis. What, no Little Mo
Connelly, Althea Gibson, Doris Hart, Helen Wills. Suzanne Langlen, Maria Bueno,
Tracy Austin, Virginia Wade, Margaret Dupont, Helen Jacobs, Louise Brough,
Shirley Fry Irvin! Maria Sharapova?
