Love over Bloviation:
Noting perks me up
more than the song “Country Roads”. Almost heaven, West Virginia.
The underlying cause of the USA bitterness
is this idea that there is only one way to skin a cat. That for some tainted reasoning
those who believe sincerely in different things can’t coexist harmoniously. Doesn’t that seem odd to you. Idle condemnation
is the rift on the surface. Yet among real everyday people, political outcomes
is really but a miniscule consideration, noise in the background in the lives
of most average humans plodding the paths of life.
Now love is a different story.
It is intrinsic at all levels. It is what people seek. That is probably why so
many are so confused about this attention to rancor. If you find love in a parent
or sibling or child, friend or mate, you really have it all despite what society
may say. Love is the treasure whether rich or poor.
There have been all out wars.
There have been incursions of suspect nature. But we may never witness a more
ruthless intrusion into our daily routine than the battle for supremacy among
streamers. Where early adopters and innovators now may only mean furthest to
fall. Like Netflix.
A good and witty reader
sends in this oldie but goody: “If a cow doesn’t give milk, is it a Milk Dud or
an udder failure?
The Question:
What do you think are considered the top ten
Broadway Show Tunes of all time? Obviously, there is no right answer here. It
just depends on what you hum.

Another loyal reader suggests,
would someone pull-ease give Hillary a Participation Trophy so she’ll think she
won something.
I’m feeling a little bit in a state
of depression after watching the Season Two final episode of “Succession”. Now
I have to wait another year to get it started again. It was a very good finish
to a season that just kept on getting stronger. And now…we wait.
Something rich,
creamy and fattening is a sure cure for such emotional depression.
Don’t look now,
but a new poll on Candidates for the Dem Nomination has Michelle O leading them
all.
I’m just a plain old American
with American tastes. At least based on the new survey of Americans about their
favored candy bar. They love Reese’s, just as crave Reese’s. Maybe it’s’ because
the orange wrapper matches my Cheeto bags. I’m kind of a fashionable guy. I
joined a huge 36% in picking the Chocolate and salty peanut butter bar. Next
was Snickers, followed by M&M’s and Hershey’s plain chocolate.
Hunter Biden says
he did nothing wrong in Ukraine. Trump says he did nothing wrong in Ukraine. Is
Biden impeachable too?
And, the NFL refs are calling
far too many penalties this year. The mighty NFL is becoming a lot like California
where everything is banned, and too many refs see things that aren’t there in order
to be quite sure they have not missed enforcing a regulation. Like upsetting the
police state. Life without freedom to make a small error, is no life at all.
And I would ban
the phrase “Teachable Moment” in a heartbeat.
Did you see where ABC News
used a film of a big blast in Kentucky to support their story about Turkey bombing
Kurd civilians.
The Answer:
The list I have used here has as #1 “Roses Turn”
form Gypsy. #2 is “Ol Man River” form Showboat followed by “Finishing the Hat”
from Sunday in the Park with George, “And I’m Telling You I’m not Going” from Dream
Girls, “Some Enchanted Evening” form South Pacific, “Cabaret”, “Satisfied” form
Hamilton, “Losing my Mind” form Follies, Ya Got Trouble” form Music Man, and at
#10 “Some Other Time” from On The Town. Some Others of note are, “Memory” (12) “There’s
No Business Like Show Business” (13), “You’ll Never Walk Alone” (14), “One Day
More” Les Miz (15), “Don’t Rain On My Parade” (17) “Aquarius” (19), “Send in
the Clowns (22), “Tonight” (24) and one of my old time favorites “I Got Rhythm.
Number’s 49 and 50 are “Wouldn’t it be Loverly” and “Ease on Down The Road”.
Wouldn’t it be grand
if everybody thought about love and nothing but love? If we thought of the little
things we can do, little moments we feel. That each day we did something that might
never be noticed, but we did it as a piece of love.
Air Supply sang a lot
about L-o-v-e. Here’s one. It’s good to dream of the good in hearts:
