The simplicity of loving.

Today's Tids Issue 4,502
Holding hands tightly:

I think of all those lives which have trod
Upon this grand Earth we all plod.
Of their dilemmas and solutions.
Especially minimalist contributions.
To wake and work the long day.
To love, and care for all, in every way.
That human bonds over the years,
Have joined hearts against all fears.
From the first wheel to automation.
Love for others has been our salvation.

What do you call a cow after she gives birth?
“Decaffeinated”.

And from a reader expanding on yesterday’s thought: “Silence is golden.” “Enrich yourself”

Does anybody really think that because billions are being extracting from drug companies that the Opioid crisis will disappear?

The Question:
There have been many excellent ensemble TV sitcom’s over the years. – M*A*S*H, Cheers, Friends, Seinfeld and even the Big bang Theory. Name five characters form each.

Do people who bring bikes on subways know what bikes do?

I’m finding that now I have to really focus on simple little things which used to come naturally, like walking.

As much as the Stock Markets have felt painful lately, it is still the one of the best years ever. Think of all the things that we have worried about this last year – China, Brexit, Tariffs, Impeachment and more – and yet we find the markets slowly trudging along, upward. It is a low/positive era and I can’t think of anything better. Many looking back are now thinking that looking forward will be satisfying for a few years. Euphoria will be a slow rising emotion.

Justin Trudeau and several Dems want to decriminalize Opioids and Heroin. Which is great news if you run a Drug cartel.

I think you can expect big business and finance to launch a program against Elizabeth Warren. Increasingly, they see her as not understanding the overall contributions of a competitive free enterprise system. For instance, she would break up big tech simply because they are big, forgetting or not realizing that they offer many opportunities, with critical support for innovative smaller startups.  Yes they see a stifling economy under Warren and are expected to be an aggressive foe if she is nominated. And that’s Dem and Repub business people alike.

But Eliz continues to get the kind of votes that count – dollar bills. In the dem Money race as of yesterday, Biden is struggling while Liz and Bernie are doing quiet well. Liz finished September with $25.7 Mil in the bank. And, she spent the least. But Bernie did a little better, and is tops with cash on Hand at $28 Mil. Kamala is third $10 Mil but this first in rapid burn rate. Joe has about $9 mil, and struggling all of a sudden. Trump has about $135 Mil sitting around.

A dentist’s office is a filling station.

Did you know that the first main source of transportation in the Western Asia and North African so-called seat of civilization, were donkeys? Horses came much later and the iconic camel which everybody associates with Saharan travel is a relative newcomer.

Where is Marianne Williamson when the Dems need her?

The hot new home decor trend that designers are trying to sell are ceiling alterations. Alterations could be very expensive like vaulting to the roof line and adding rustic beaming, or less costly by painting with muted colors or adding tile-like design effects. Or add a wooden shiplap ceiling.  Or you can go upscale elaborate with coffers, recessed paneled ceilings. Personally, I like flat white. As I get older it gets harder to bend my head backwards and look up.

This Just In: “The Pope announces that any time watching The View counts as time in Purgatory!” Yay.  Thanks to the rascal Tony B for that one.

The longest ever peace treaty was between Egyptian Ijmas and Nubian (Sudan) Christians. It lasted from 652 to 1504 AD. With twitter, it wouldn’t have made it for a year. But, it does prove that people with significant differences an live together in harmony.

I’m thinking that oldsters could die trying to open a child proof capped pill container.

For me, too many of these newer TV dramas, military and police shows are much too dark. Maybe it’s Hollywood’s contribution to the environment by cutting the cost of electric lighting bills.

The Answer:
Well, in MASH we had Hawkeye Peirce, Trapper, Margaret Hot Lips Houlihan, Frank Burns, Klinger, Father Mulcahy, BJ Hunnicut, Lt. Col Henry Blake and Radar O’Reilly,  On Cheers the original group was Sam Malone, Diane Chambers, Coach, Carla Tortelli, Norm Peterson, Cliff Calvin, and the additions of Frazier Crane , Lilith, Woody Boyd and Rebecca Howe. Seinfeld gave us Jerry, Elaine Benes, Cosmo Kramer, George Costanza and Newman. Friends were Chandler, Rachel, Phoebe, Joey, Monica and Ross. (Note, one TV critic rates them in popularity with Chandler being #1 followed by Rachel Phoebe, Joey, Monica and Ross. He says he liked the last two in the beginning but thought get got weird.) Big Bang had Sheldon, Penny, Raj, Leonard, Howard, Leslie, Ramona and Emily.

I tried to be intelligent at the opening this mooring with a poem that attempted to say the in the beginning with but stones to the current day with whiz bang digitization, the simple fact was that people survived because the majority found something good in each other. That human temperament could bring wars and disruptions, but mainly it was love for one another that persevered through darkness. As bleak and bitter as it may seem at times, the beauty in the human heart continues to thrive. And will.
