Today's Tids Issue 5,537

When music was Music:

The music seemed sweeter this morning.

There are days when the birds seem to sing a more joyful tune.

I wonder who plans the music.

It’s nice to see Paris remembering our guys. I guess when you feel the freedom after captivity it means so much more.

It turns out that in the unprompted questions of a new Gallup Poll about issues that concerned voters most, illegal immigration popped way up on top. The rest that made any noise in the unprompted portion of a new Key issues poll were #2 Poor Government Leadership followed Economy in General, Inflation and High Cost of living. So, Check one off for Joe B. The five top concerns in the “prompted” questions are Crime and Violence, Hunger and Homelessness, The Economy, Affordable Health Care and Federal Spending. The next four are Illegal Immigration (Prompted Answer), Drug Use, The Social Security System and Potential for Terrorist Attacks. The least concerns are Unemployment, Race Relations, Environment and Cost of Energy.

The Question:

Amanda Knox has been reconvicted of slander by an Italian court. If you remember, she fingered an innocent man as the killer of her roommate. The Amanda Knox story is one reason why some parents get concerned about a college year abroad for their kids.

As sports betting becomes ubiquitous (Or has it already?), sports leagues will be looking closer at players, Mangement and officials' actions on the web. and creating more rules to safeguard integrity.

Did you see the news suggestions about Rory McIlroy and CBS reporter Amanda Balionis being an Item. No wonder she always has such good interviews with that Irish rascal.

It seems that more than all the specific issues of Voter concern is the underlying enemy, Dems and Repubs not working together in congress for the good and betterment of all people,

Up in Boston people are criticizing Walgreens for closing a store in a lower income neighborhood. It seems crime has made it nearly impossible to operate safely. And the Boston Mayor Michelle Wu would most like join in the outrage against Walgreens Yet, she may well be the problem. When she was running for Mayor, she had to answer yes or no to several questions about her support of policies. She answered “yes” when asked if she supports the following agenda of DA Rollins enacted identifying more than a dozen charges she said should be declined for prosecution. “Those crimes included shoplifting, larceny, disorderly conduct, receiving stolen property, driving with a suspended license, breaking and entering with property damage, wanton and malicious destruction of property, threats, minor in possession of alcohol, marijuana possession, possession with intent to distribute, non-marijuana drug possession.”

R&H had a lot of just plain great listenable music. A fun song was "There ain’t Nothing Like a Dame”. Could you still sing that in public. But h ere is one of my favorite Fun songs from the duo. (Btw, if R&H had spell-check they wouldn’t have been able to get away with writing “Ain’t”.)
