Today's Tids Issue 5,812
We can do it:
Happy Memorial Day, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!! I hope the get-togethers went well and you all will have a time to remember. That you felt the beat of the drums as the troops marched down your Mainstreet. And you felt that little thrill in your heart watching kids wave American flags as the music filled the air.
I was reviewing my medical costs and dismayed about what my doctors were getting paid and thinking, they should have been plumbers.
Are some college student bodies getting too sophisticated to throw their caps in the air after graduation? What ever happened to honest fun”
After hearing the RFK Jr food report, I wonder how I'll be able to keep on living eating healthy food.
The Question:
How many different official versions of the American flag have we seen over the history of our country?
The Headlines:
--Americans remember.
--Markets Closed.
--Trump Blasts Putin; Calls him Crazy; Kremlin Reaction Subdued.
--King Charles Coming to Canada to Open Parliament; Visit Meant to Reinforce UK's Support in Face of Trump Insults.
--Shooting at SC's Little River Near Popular Beach Areas Sends 10 in Hospital.
It appears that Putin has initiate his own peace plan which requires bombing the hell out of Kiev.
A political insider informs me that the House ok’d the no taxes on tips after learning that bribes count as tips.
I just got the dreaded message. “Restart your computer to install updates.” What will it be like when it returns. I was holding my breath. Thankfully, Microsoft “Co-Pilot didn't get more intrusive. You never know these days.
I kid a lot about the fear of AI taking over my life, but intelligent people are using ChatGPT quite productively.
But I still think AI answers to Google searches are lifeless.
Yesterday Morning I was in the midst of a wonderful piece of music by Richard Strauss, when i realized the Indy 500 programming was about to start on TV. What to do? I put television mute and enjoyed the power of musci and the thrill of racing together.
Hey, what genius TV exec thinks that two and a half hours of pre-Indy talk and interviews is interesting. God help us. I say the same for the Kentucky Derby.
When I was in high school and college, I would listen to Errol Garner and Ahmad Jamal endlessly. Now I say thanks to You tube.
Well, Kyle Larson started both the Indy 5000 and the Coca Cola Nascar 600 in Charlotte NC yesterday. He drove well until he hit a wall in both races. Or was it a lack of sleep wall? It is quite the feat. Indy was won by the new driving phenom and latest racing legend, Alex Palou. and Coca Cola by Ross Chastain. What a day!!
I just heard a disheartening report from the lips of a pretty large casino management. It appears that it is far from a rarity to find kids in cars while both parents are spending hours at he tables and machines inside.
Hey, our saving’s accounts are safe today as teh markets are closed.
The Tids Punster Laureate knows food! He just sent a pic of Pancake Coated Bacon. Go crazy!
He also reminds me that Jake Taper in his new book essentially tells us that Biden's decline was covered up by Jake Tapper. That’s a joke that has a ring of truth to it.
Answer:
There have been 27 different versions of our flag. The last change being in 1960 when Hawaii joined the union. However, with all the changes the original blue panel and the seven red and six white stripes has never changed. The Betsy Ross flag with stars in a circle considered the first official flag. There were other flags used by colonists like the "The Don't Tread on Me” Snake a flag or the “Liberty or Death” flags which while meaningful historically, were not official. So. Thats the way it will; be unless you-know-who decides he a has a better idea for a design change.
Enjoy the day. Remember. Always remember.
