3 Co-Equal:
You know that the White House and the Conclave are quite similar. They both blow smoke. Sorry, some things just drift into your brain, and you can’t stop it.
As I watched Musk the past months I was remembering that the Secretary of Defense under “Ike” was Charels E. Wilson, CEO of General Motors. He was famous for saying during his confirmation hearing, “For years I thought what was good for the country was good for General Motors and Vice Versa.” Some people were probably aghast over Wilson’s words, but handwritten notes just couldn’t spread the word like the Internet does.
Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back.
The Question:
Who was the first black person to appear on the cover of Life Magazine?

One of my newest addictions is looking forward to doing “Wordle” and “Quordle” each Morning. It’s actually better than some of my older addictions.
I just had to repeat this said last night from Chief Justice Roberts: “In our Constitution ... the judiciary is a coequal branch of government, separate from the others, with the authority to interpret the Constitution as law and strike down, obviously, acts of Congress or acts of the president." This is what makes the USA Unique.
He also said with respect to actions against judges, “Impeachment is not how to register disagreement with decisions.” I also feel that the recent national tendency to rush to presidential impeachment is not the way our government was constructed to reach decisions for the common good.
It always amazed me how we reach these last-minute panic situations as in the case of realizing you suddenly need a “Real ID”. All states had the ability to issue this document by 2020. They were generally issued as driver’s licenses became due for renewals or obviously when first issued. Yet we had a panic. I guess it is good for news visuals – panicky Americans.
There are black clouds today over Cleveland and New England as both the favorites' Cavs and Celts are down in round two of the playoffs 0-2. The Celts blew 20 point leads in both losses. Thats is not the guts of a champion.
Sue Bird, the former UConn and Seattle WNBA star, is now head of the US Women’s National Basketball Team. She has always been agraceful winner, steady and resourceful in everything she did. I always thought highly of her and it's nice to see her get the big payoff, the recognition she deserves
Jordan Spieth could be the next after Rory to get the Career Grand Slam with the coming PGA Championship being the only one he needs. This tournament will be loaded with all the bigs from the PGA and LIV. And that includes Michelson who is also just one major away from a GS. Spieth will have to show up without his demons to beat this tough field. But Ilike the guy and always root for him.
You can never go wrong with country fried chicken or steak with gravy as long as you are up to dealing with the guilt.
I don't know about you, but the weeks just fly by. What do I do?
My college was just recognized as a Tier 1 Research University by Carnegie. A bit of pride here but I’m concerned it will move the Trump spotlight our way. This is the paranoid era.
Like, when I see a participation uptick in the Tids Blog site Im thinking, Pam Biondi’s agents are watching. It's tough being an aging blogger. Oris that Patel’s gang.
You'll feel better if you can avoid creating an emotional bond with onions.
The Answer:
Jackie Ribinson was the first African-American to appear on the Life Covee in 1950. In 1954 actress Dorothy Dandridge was the first black woman on the cover.
Dorothy Dandridge was quite the star back then. So, here a little of her singing for you all. A nice way to begin easing into the weekend:
