A brighter shade of flail.

Today's Tids Issue 5,633

The Aftermath:

Do you know what is annoying? Having to listen to whining politicians when real people are in fear for their lives, and the definite possibility that in one single day they could lose everything they have worked their entire lives to achieve.

I have to tell you: I feel much heathier in the cold. Not that that means anything as the world seeks peace among peoples.

This war in the Middle East is beginning to feel nonsensical.

And as I type, people are mixing red paint to throw at Columbus statues on Monday. Some people just want to be angry. But I guess that even with all of the technological advances since living in caves, that and greed and selfishness and thank God, love, have been the constants though time. Live with it. Or move into a cave somewhere.

Only dead fish go with the flow.

The Question:

What are the five oldest NFL Stadiums?

Some people say that the greatest vacations of all are in out of the way places where there are no phone connections and no TV. Or glittering lights, except for the moon and stars, and the sun glittering off of mountain lakes.

It's TidsPickin’ time. Last week we were a mediocre 8-7. That puts us at 46-33 (58.2%) A lot of the losses looked quite bright until the final seconds. So here we are again. The more interesting games among better teams are Tonight’s Seattle-San Fran (Who knew), Baltimore-Washington (Who knew), TB-NO, Buffalo and the Jets and a very interesting Dallas against Detroit. So tonight, we have Srattle being surprising in a positive way and the Niners in a negative way. Tisi a very tough pick. The McCaffery effect is truning out to be huge for SF. But,I’ll take them up in Seattle. How happy are our politicians with the Baltimore-Washington game being one of the best of the week. Washington is playing very well, but I still think Baltimore is just a better team. This year. TB has let me down a couple of times but NO without their QB this week will lose to the displaced Bucs. Kamara can’t do it all. There wer questions about Buffalo overall at the beginning of the season, and now they have  come to fruition. Yet, the Jets are still the Jets, and a new coach won't help especially If Rogers ankle sprain slows him down. I go Bills. The Double D game should be fun. But I have to pick Detroit.

The Chargers-Broncos game is really an important one too. I'm sticking with Denver because I like Coach Paeyton. Has Jax, one of the biggest early season disappointments, turned the corner. Is Chicago a mirage? Tough pick here also but, I'll go with Jax. I like Green Ba yover Arizona, and Cincy over the New York Football Giants, even though the Jints have bene surprising afte a slow start. Tenn and Indy would be a top rival game if they were still good. I happen to like Tennessee. Pitt will beat LV though Pitt is becoming a bit of a mystery. I've saved the worst for last. The league dregs right now are Cleveland, Carolina and my beloved Pats. Philly has been iffy but even they should take the Browns who seem lost. Carolina was projected to be bad and they don't stand a chance against Atlanta. And then there is my Pats. They are starting finally their prized QB Draftee. But Houston is a very good team and Rookie QB Drake Maye will still be playing behind the same line. I'd love to, but I just can't pick the Pats on Hope alone. The Chiefs, Dolphins, Rams and Vikes are off this week.

The Mayor of Tampa says that they escaped a bullet. Tell that to the 3 million or more poeple without power, the Saint Petersburg people without water and the families of people who lost their lives in pre-storm tornados.

Jeffery Dahmer prefers the fast food place named Five Guys.

The roof of the Tampa baseball stadium has always been a problem with the games and then yesterday when they fnally needed it to protect Milton Operations Central, it blew away. How ironic.

The country’s leading supplier of French Fries for Fast Food companies (Lamb-Weston) is closing plants and laying off 4000 people. The Washington based company says business at their customers is slowing significantly. Maybe if they started using Eastern potatoes instead of the Idaho variety sales would pick up because even in fast food places, taste does make a difference.

McDonalds should serve their Chicken Nuggets in bigger boxes. At least customers would feel they are getting something for their money.

What's the only Papally-approved fast food chain in the US? Popeyes!

An old couple goes to a fast-food restaurant. They order one burger and fries, sit down and divide the burger and fries. A man from table next to them sees that and asks politely: "If you want, I can buy some extra food for you." "No thanks, we are an old couple, we share everything." Time goes by and the man is eating, but the woman is not. From the table next to them, the man asks again: "I really have no problem buying you food." Man replies: "Don't worry about it, she will eat! We share everything" But the stranger is not happy with that and asks the woman: "Why are you not eating?" Woman looks at him and says: "I am waiting for the teeth."

The Answer:

21 of the stadiums were built in the last 25 years, but there are a few oldies and one fairly ancient. Soldiers Field Chicago was built in1924. The second oldest came along in 1957 – Lambeau Field in Green Bay, BTW, those plus Cleveland are the only three stadiums without corporate names. Next is GHEA Field at Arrowhead in Kansas City (1972), followed by Highmark in Buffalo (1973),  Caeser's Superdome in NO (1975), and Hardrock Stadium of Miami (1987). The stadiums buolto  inthe 1990’s are EverBank in Jacksonville (1995), Bank of America in Charlotte (1996), FedEx Field in DC(1997), M&T Bank Baltimore (1998) Raymond James Tampa (1998), Cleveland Browns Stadium (1999) and Nissan Stadium Tennessee. (1999).

Time for this old guy to run, Or is that hobble.
