Beneath the frills.

Today's Tids Issue 5,646

We aren't California:

Well, just over one week America will be glued to their TV sets feeling like they’re waiting for the results of a Pathology. This without question has been the oddest campaign in the history of mankind; Made odder by the fact that it is taking place in the greatest nation in the world.

Aside from a smattering of a few vocal groups made to look large on TV cameras, the vast majority of Americans will waken Wednesday morning, check the news, brush their teeth, eat breakfast, drive to work or school and set out to do the day's work, to make a buck to buy food and shelter and a little entertainment along the way.

Speaking of Odd, if Trump wins, Kamala as VP will have to go to V Congress and Certify the Electoral College Vote.

The Question:

What are Aarin Copeland's Three great Ballets and which renown choreographers did he work with in creation of them

The Headlines:

--Big Tech Earnings Week Starts Off with Strong Dow; Soft Landing to be Tested with New Jobs Data at End of Week.

--Trump, Harris Begin Final Week; Philly DA Sues Musk PAN to stop $1,00,00,00 Lottery.

--Apple Launches AI Software for iOS 18.1 and MacOS 15.1; MacDonalds Brings Back Quarter Pounder following E.coli Episode. --New RCP Poll Averages Out Today Has Trump Jumping Ahead,

Isn’t it interesting how a small object in your home a little event in daily living can trigger wonderful memories of beautiful past moments in life.  No matter who’s President. You never lose that.

The Tids Punster Laureat just wrote to say, "I just bought a sweet car on line. Was owned by Neil Diamond.” Think about it.

I'm dismayed that the election of the so-called leader of the free world could be determined by people's view about the number of children who should be aborted.

I have heard many a music critic disparaging Aaron Copeland. I think is music is refreshing, buoyant, very creative and pleasant to listen to. Personally, I think critics are mainly jealous people... says I as I criticize critics.

A celebrity backing Harris is not news. A Hollywood celebrity backing Trump sounds like fake news.

Another thing that is odd is that one of the Candidates learned everything thing she knows about running government by being a contributor to the daily happenings in California. It is not Ronald Reagans California anymore. It is barely America.

Today's culture seems to be creating a slippery slope for the future.

BTW, one aspect of that slippery slope is the geometric increase in gambling with easy entry gambling is expected to push those participating in “Risk Gambling” past the current total of450 Million worldwide. Everybody basically has a casino in their pocket so te temptation requires no extra effort other than convincing a reluctant brain to press yes. Risk Gamblers are well on the road to becoming to joining about 80 million with a “Gambling Disorder” now about 80 million. Just risk gambling can lead to serious behavioral changes that can affect life and health. BTW, 26% of the those defined in the Gambling Disorder range are Adolescents. I'd say that is a slippery slope.

“One night I walked home very late and fell asleep in somebody's satellite dish. My dreams showed up on TVs all over the world.” --SW

I don't like to see CD covers where the Conductor’s name is in huge type and the name of the Composer is buried. Most classical composers are dead and can't defend themselves.

Also, I tend to avoid books where the Authors name is bigger than the title and movies where stars Shine out above everything. That tends to tell me the plots aren't so hot, but we’d like you to buy this based on past success.

The Answer:

Copeland’s great Ballets are, Appalachian Spring, Rodeo and Billy the Kid. He worked with Martha Graham on AS and Agnus DeMille on Rodeo; two choreographers who are superstars in their own right

Judy Garland just dominated musical comedy movies in the forties.   You know, the simple movies where boy hopes girl likes him and Girl hopes boy likes her, and they don't quite know how to ask. Judy could sing and often brought down the house with her energy. I always liked this one from way back. Have a musical night, E-v-e-r-y-b-o-d-y!!
