Today's Tids Issue 5.644
It's real close:
Whether or not you like it, everything is about selling something and making money from it no matter how altruistic politicians may seem when framing the need for added spending.
Do you get the feeling now that everybody in America is racing around trying to find their own definition of the word Fascist?
Well, the good news is that meat lovers win again. The vegetable onions have been found to be the cause of E.coli at Mac’s Place.
“When I was little, my grandfather used to make me stand in a closet for five minutes without moving. He said it was elevator practice.” --Steven Wright
The Question:
What cities have the most and best Romanesque Architecture. Romanesque homes featuring robust columns, round arches and cavernous door openings, and bold towers, exuding mass and permanence.

A really interesting college game this weekend is Notre Dame and Navy. I used to listen to that game on the radio in the 1940’s. It is still going on and still special. ND is ranked 12 and undefeated Navy is also in the top 25. A game I will definitely be keeping an eye on is Ilinois and Oregon. Illinois was strong last week, and the Ducks are number one. Undefeated Duke and ranked SMU s a highlight for a beleaguered ACC. Nebraska versus Ohio State had the makings of good one until the Huskers got trounced last week. Number 5 Texas is playing number 25 Vanderbilt, but it should be no contest with Texas mauling the Commodores. I would also put Indiana–Washington in the interesting category. Frankly all I'm hoping for is that one of the networks is free for nightly national and local news.
Our bumbling but lifetime US Senator Whitehouse has been assaulting us with a continuous barrage of annoying commercials. One of these pokes at the Repub’s dark money. But I don't know whether Geroge Soros's dough is considered dark by Sheldon, but it is oozing its way through the system with socialist messages. And now this month Biden’s FCC approved his bid to buy 200 USA Radios stations, the former Audacy network now in financial straits. That could be a problem. You think?
By the way, Sheldon, Ill be voting strongly for Patricia Morgan.
I get the sense that the “October Surprise” Factory is working overtime for the next 10-11 days. Find a shelter.
In case you are interested, the official Webster Dictionary definition of fascism: “Fascism: a populist political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual, that is associated with a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, and that is characterized by severe economic and social regimentation and by forcible suppression of opposition.”
Do all the Americans forget we have a congress. That the USA Democratic republic was designed to neutralize single authority leadership.
Is the world's most populous country India caught in the middle of needing friendly relations with neighbors in BRICS and the USA at the same time.
The RCP Average now has the race draw at 48.5% to 48.5%. This average of 13 national polls has the two tied in one poll, the NYT poll and has each candidate winning 6. A month ago, when I reported this, Trump was moderately significantly further behind.
The Tids Punster laureate writes to say, “When I look in the mirror, I always see grey hair, wrinkles and crow's feet and I say to myself. “They don't make mirrors like they used to.”.”
Bring back better mirrors and analog appliances. Digital appliances are much too. Sensitive. I'm thinking of a new career and bemoan digital appliance therapist.
Sometimes when I'm in a crowd I feel like I'm in parentheses and nobody can see me. It happened the other day. I guess I just have one of those ordinary faces nobody remembers.
Have you noticed that everybody with a shaved head looks pretty much the same. Hair must be a defining characteristic.
It’s odd. Have you noticed how often people order fish and tell the waiter it doesn't taste fishy?
