Today's Tids Issue 5,670
TDay is a prayer of Thanks:
How do you really say thanks.
Say thanks so somebody knows.
Or do they always know,
By the way you act each day.
Thanksgiving Day really is a wonderful time, isn't it. Think of the memories of yore; Think of the blessings of each day. Think of what you can give.
It should be a particularly exciting Macy's TDay parade tomorrow, Winds, rain and big balloons just don't do well together.
Meanwhile there is peace in Lebanon, for a while. Until the next ambitious warlord thinks he or she can win it differently. But they are saying that Hezbollah succumbed because they recognized how powerful the Israel fighting machine really was.
The Question:
Which famous Christmas song was originally written to be a Thanksgiving Song?

TidsPickin’ ain’t what it was. Where did Cleveland and Tennessee come form? Went 8-5 bringing us to 109-56 (66%). We need a big boost this week, but it doesn't look easy at all. I have as really interesting games, Cincy-Pitt, Chargers-Falcons, Miami–Pack, for some reason Cleveland and Denver. A really big one should have been San Fran and Buffalo. And the really big one that is – is the I95 battle between Baltimore and the “Iggles”. Last week I said Steeler coach Mike Tomlin was one of the greats of all time and then he let the Browns rise from the dead., Cincy is tough and can really be tough and is at home. I'm picking Burrow over Wilson. The Chargers looked vulnerable last week, Atlanta does all of the time. Isay the LAC bounces back. I am finally convinced that he Pack is real. Miami is getting stronger. But I'll stay with northland Green Bay over shivering Miami. I like the Cleveland Denver game because the Browns woke up and I have been impressed with the Broncs all year, I'll stay with the Broncs who have one of the all-time great coaches too in Sean Peyton. Uh-oh. San Fran goes to Buffalo. This has the earmarks of a great one if the Niners didn't have so many defects. But they will make the Buffalo team scurry for sure. I'll stay with the Bills in a closer game than some think. Baltimore and Philly have two similar QB’s. Both can change the game all by themselves. The teams have two the best runners in the game in Barkley and Henry. But I believe Philly has more of everything else. Wow! I was going to keep it short today.
Also of interest somewhat, are a few more that can go either way, but they don’t count as much. I have to pick Detroit over da Bears, and the Giants who are just plain lost and will be beat even by the Cowboys who aren't quite as lost. I like KC big over LV and TB over Carolina is a fairly close game. Arizona and Minn is an important game and could have been listed above. Minn wins. Houston has been really iffy lately, But Jax is a complete mystery. I don't see Trevor returning so Ill hold my breath and go Texans. Ah the Jets. They just aren't that good, and Seattle has a lotto play for. I'll stay with Geno over Aaron. Tennessee showed something last week and I lie their young QB. Washington has been on a downslide lately. They will come back and beat the Titans. The Rams and Saints is now a toss-up. NO has won two in a row. But I think I'll go Rams. Alas, that brings me to the Pats who looked like a badly coached high school team last week. Indy can be good or bad, I don’t see the Pat’s “O” line holding back the Colts.
It doesn't appear that Mexico's New President Claudia Scheinbaum is going to sit idly by and cow to Trump threats and mis accusations.
Are Dollar stores to become $10 Dollar stores on January 20?
The gambling store Fan Duel has a commercial out actually saying sign up for FanDuel and make Thanksgiving Day special. I think the nation is going to hell.
It's about this guy Gorka Trump appointed Deputy Assistant for National Security. Conservatives and moderates alike are berating him as a certified nut... and dangerous to boot. The real problem here is that “Deputy Assistants” and “Undersecretary’s" don’t have ot be approved by the D Seante. How toavoid checks and balances 101.
There’s an Old axiom that says if you bring up politics at Thanksgiving dinner, you will save big money on Christmas presents.
The only argument we ever get into is who gets the last piece of chocolate Silk Pie.
I'm keeping it short today as you all have plenty to do to get ready for or are stuck in an airport or traffic jam somewhere.
One of my lasting TDay travel images is trying to get around Hartford while traveling from Boston to New York. There was no easy way even after they built the interstates.
Where do all the deer go in the winter when the trees shed their leaves?
The Answer:
Whether you believe Christmas music is meant to be played before Thanksgiving or after Thanksgiving, one thing is true. “Jingle Bells” was originally written as a Thanksgiving song. “Jingle Bells” was written by James Lord Pierpont and published in 1857. According to history Jingle Bells wasn’t even the song’s original name, it was “One Horse Open Sleigh.”
Its ok to overeat on Thanksgiving:
