Today's Tids Issue 5.673

Staying current:

The Ho-ho's are coming as this is the beginning of the last month when angels sing, shopping madness infects, and people become giddy over wonderful traditions past. We feel the iciness of winters of yore that reminds us of the fun we had in a Snowy December when winters snows felt so deep because we were only two and half feet tall. And our galoshes were a foot tall. We remember how choirs sang of the birth of a Baby and Jingle Bells heralded the thoughts of presents on the way. And even as things change dramatically though marvels of technology, we are all still just people and we still more than anything else, feel. Happy December everybody. It's a smiling month.

Speaking of feeling, I was thinking after TDay Saturday that one of the things to be so thankful for are those you never see any more who have been so important in your life. And I thought of so many people I used to know so well and how the pleasant memories never fade,

Aha! Prez Joe B just issued a sweeping pardon of his son Hunter. Does that now set the tone for willy nilly pardoning for the next four years. It could be a great time to be a criminal

Please tell me that the commercial I heard yesterday for a Trump watch is an “Onion" parody/satire. I mean the President of the USA, the leader of the free world hawking watches! The West Wing with a Merch department. How humiliating. But then, if you can commercialize the birth of Christ, why not a president elect.  It’s America, after all.

The Question:

What was Abe Lincoln's Favorite cake? It was baked by Mary Todd before their marriage and he proclaimed it the best cake ever,

One of the more interesting aging phenomena is seeing. For instance, when filling a glass with your favorite beverage your hope is that the liquid rises up and does not spread out. It is very tense.

A lot of readers appear disturbed when I write happy things about snow.

One of my favorite childhood memories is when my dad used to roll us down the hill inside of a tire. Those were the Goodyears.

It really just doesn't seem the same when you can prosecute a war on social media.

I remember once how once I was mesmerized at a live performance of Tchai's 4th listening to the methodical tempo of the tympani as the orchestra built to the beginning of the crescendo

There is no truth to the rumor that Rans and Musk are selling the naming rights for the White House to Fan Duel. Or is there?

Did you see where Biden is proposing that weight loss drugs like Ozempic be covered by Medicare. Hey, Ozempic is a diabetes drug that just happens to help with weight loss. How about helping Diabetics now faced with gigantic costs just to stay alive. Has our world gone mad. Or is it simply that there are more overweight people votes than those of diabetics.

To me rap music is about rhythm and frenzy and it all sounds pretty much the same. But so did a lot of baroque.

While Dictionary dot com picked Demure as their word of the year, the Oxford dictionary picked  “Brainrotover their other choices "Lore and Slop. Brainrot was the number 2 choice of Dictionary and means, “The deterioration of our Mental states due to inane low online content.

I can see big retailer stores becoming small in the not-too-distant future. There would be no inventory, but full lines of every style and size with plenty of employee service to help with cyber ordering.   Try it on, order it with your phone and have it delivered in the morning. The retailers would still be style setters and service the buying procedure without costly inventory and extra low productive space. The only stores with inventory will be those discounters unloading the unsaleable at the CyberWarehouse's

It was an interesting college basketball week with many highly ranked teams possibly falling out of the top 25. And that includes last week’s number 2 and winner of the past two NCAA championships. They went 0–3 last week and Danny Hurley is on the war path. Also of note, other than Marquette, the rest of the Big East got knocked around quite a bit

The Answer:

Abe’s favorite was “Vanilla Almond Cake with fluffy white frosting. Sliced almonds were mixed into the vanilla batter, but todays chefs say that if that idea of almond chunk texture is bothersome, sprinkle them on top.

I have a problem writing Rap and “Music" the same sentence. But ra p is escaping urban roots and County rap is coming along on the back roads of hill communities. Just to keep you abreast of the future, here is Morgan Wallen in one of the Best Country Rap songs for 2024.
