Though an odd choice, Mariska Hartigau did a workmanlike job and carried it off quite well in the Emmy's hosting gig. Unfortunately, the directors let her down with bad timing, awkward interludes, and some bad writing for presenters and forced, strained sketches. But, if you liked the winners, it was good.

I read where one of the annoyances at the US Open Tennis was unruley "Influencers taking pictures with their phones. I guess I don't understand the ecncept of influencers, either.

In case you hadn't noticed, it's happening. All that talk of danger signals about the stock market seem to be coming to fruition,. It always happens that way in September/ September reacts to the buildup of summer economy talk. 

 

This is the week of overreaction in NFL analysis. People make year long predictions based on what they saw in one game. This is even more the case with so much gambling grumbling rising to the surface after game day. A NFL analyst named Pete Prisco puts out his Power ranking of NFL teams. He still has Seattle as Number One. They are followed by Jags, Bills, Niners, Rams, Ravens, Eagles, Bengals, Bears and Chiefs. My Pats are down at 19. It looks like Pete overreacted the Pats near miss loss.  The bottom five are Raiders, Falcons. Titans, Browns and Dolphins at the bottom. Just in case you are interested.  

 

When corn starts being sold at 3 ears for $1, it probably isn't worth it. Unless you are a cow.  

 

If an assault in one country like Iran reduces significantly our weapon supple, how could we possibly win a larger scale conflict? With AI?

The Answer: 

Health care is by far the dominant industry today, It is followed by service industries. Manufacturing accounts for only 9.3% of jobs. In 1990 the US was the dominant Manufacturing country in the world. Interestingly, while manufacturing doesn't produce the good paying jobs as in the past, manufacturing today produces 30% more in physical products than in 1990 through automation.
